Re: District 5 Baseball
I agree with you, GetALife, 100%! I do believe i also sense a hint of jealousy... so back to the original topic i hope everyone does well this year and the same hope goes out to the softball teams as well... in the SHL(and LHAC) i know we have some fine athletes and i hope they try theyre best... in the end thats all that really matters(but a few W's in the scoreboook would be nice now and again!lol)

jealous of donovan mcgee? who in the hell would be jealous of donovan mcgee, he didn't accomplish anything that great. and anyone that even payed any attention to sports they knew anything about baseball and f-m, they knew no matter what sport it was, all the coaches would suck up to donovan and do whatever he wanted to do. if you only knew half the stuff i knew, you would understand. but im not turnign this into a bashing of donovan theres no sense in that. What i don;t understand is that everyone is counting fm out of the playoffs and it was said because they have no pitching, which they defintley do.

I'd say GetALife struck a nerve with engineman. McGee was a coach's dream on the field. He played hard every minute no matter the sport. His intensity, determination and desire to win was never questioned by anyone. He had no fear of failure and thrived under pressure. Maybe he earned the ball.
You're right he didn't accomplish much. He was a three time SHL First Team All Star including three in baseball and a two time Public Opinion First Team All Star in baseball. He's currently pitching for Fredrick Community College. I believe he also made the SHL and P.O. All Star Teams in soccer and scored a 1000 points in his basketball career, and he wasn't even that good in basketball.
By the way engineman, what did you accomplish? I know one thing for sure, you don't know much.
Lastly, although his team will miss what McGee brought to the field, they are eager to prove they can be successful without him.

and why did donovan get all these awards? was it because donovan always had the ball? or that no one else was given the chance to do so? their has been countless times when ive seen fm coaches in baseball take donovan out of the game when we was losing and put nick in and nick would get us the lead, but soon as we had the lead they took nick out and put donovan right back in. same thing happen to nathan schrack, after that year it happen nathan quit pitching, he just went strictly to catching.
and in sports hardball21, i didnt accomplish anything because i didnt play, and guess why yea donovan and seen how the team had to revolve around him. Now i personally dont know who you are, but if you go to fm then ask the team what they thought of donovan. I know what they thought of him i grew up with them i graduated with donovan i know donovan and i know all the stuff that happens in fm.

This just in to the newsdesk of GetALife.....Engineboy opens mouth, removes all doubt, and shows complete lack of intelligence in a subject that he knows absolutely nothing about....Story right now....
Engineboy, a pitcher that comes into the game in relief can not get us the lead. It takes a team to get the runs back at the plate while they are on offense. So unless Nick is the almighty one, which i don't think he is, i don't think he can score all by himself. I am by no means bashing Mr. McCalamont, he threw well at times last year for the Tigers. The one thing that i would question is does he want the ball in a crucial situation. It takes a certain kind of commitment, dedication, and competitive fire to want that ball with the game on the line. Does he have that? I am not sure.
As for the rest of the FM Tigers, I would hope they would be motivated by the naysayers that Mcgee was a one man show. That they can not win without the boy with a golden arm. Quite frankly, they should be above .500 winning percentage. They should qualify for districts. They can make a run deep into the playoffs again. The age old saying in baseball is that Pitching and Defense wins Championships. Engineboy, this is probably the first time you probably have heard this, i truly realize you have probably lived a sheltered life in the dugout, on the bench, at the Ruritan Fields in Fannettsburg. Hey thats ok!! The one thing that remains to be seen is can the pitchers at FM throw strikes. IF they do, they can make a playoff run. If they don't, it will be an average season. They will hit and they will play defense but pitching will be the key.
Engineboy, you seem to know a lot about Nick. Are you stalking him? Are you his number 1 fan? Just curious! Furthermore, for you to say that the baseball coaches favored McGee in anyway would be ludicrous. Since you make this statement, you must have been at practice every night. If you would have been at practice, you would have probably seen that boy running twice as much as the next guy. I can't speak for the soccer and basketball coach but i am sure the baseball coaches did not favor him.
In closing, engineboy seems to think that he is a V8 racecar engine in the scheme of life, however he is just 4 cylinder Pinto running one cylinder down.
This is GetALife signing off good night and good news!

Re: District 5 Baseball
Listen engineman... i know stuff that happened at f-m with Donovan but there is no need to bring that on this site... and if you know so much about donovan and his awards i think maybe you should recheck your facts and go talk to the coaches... donovan worked hard at practice and who was out late at night practicing on the field? not nick but donovan... donovan was an all around athlete and has a natural ability! and just a question about donovan being the only one who had the ball how could he manage that in baseball i mean think about it... and if you know so much what the other players think of him maybe i should go to school tomorrow and take a survey... just remember you may THINK you know what happens at fm but you may be wrong... let me guess next year you are going to be on here saying that the caoches only focused on dakota... and IF donovan did get treated (for lack of better words)"better" it was only his senior year if that... and FYI nobody counted fm outta the playoffs in fact almost everyone on this topic said that they think we can do it again! so please do us all a favor and either get out of this topic or tell us why you have resentment against Donovan

Re: District 5 Baseball
yea mr.Getalife, i think you understood me wrong, yea granted the pitching alone does not get you back the lead. Though when you shut down the opposing teams offense, which is what nick and nathan did on a couple different times. Then once fm gets the lead back, they put donovan back in. Ill admit donovan was a good pitcher, but not like a golden arm as you said.
And i think you also misunderstood about me not playing any sports because of donovan. It wasn't that i was on the team and he beat me out. Just i never wanted to play any sports for fannett-metal. ill be honest, at fannett-metal you sign up for the sport you are on the team, rarely ppl get cut. And you might be right about nick, he mite not have all the competive edge as donovan, he mite not be abled to handle the pressure. But the small chances he got, he exceled in them. and i'm just tired of everyone trying to spin it off that f-m doesn't have a chance without donovan. I think nick is as good as donovan if not better.
