Murtha
Anyone have any idea what will happen to Johnstown and the surrounding area once Murtha retires? I for one am under the impression that you will hear a loud sucking sound, mainly due to all the technology companies leaving and moving somewhere more practical. Any Thoughts?

Re: Murtha
Watched the 6 oclock news tonight and in particular, the story of our local "hero", the illustrious John P. Murtha. Of course, the biased reporters asked all the politically correct questions concerning reaching the 4K death plateau in Iraq, and questioned the Great one about the local economy and things like why isn't 219 being finished. Of course, our 'hero' had to throw out the nonsensical fact that each day in Iraq the Gov't. spends 300-some million dollars, and the cost to finish 219 would be roughly the same. So, that means the reasons our local highways aren't being completed or fixed, is George W. Bush's fault, just like he's always cried. In actuality, it means that he won't do jack for this area unless it involves W.A.M. Chump change. Some local businesses get a start-up due to a need for their service, and are able to stay in business because ol' John is in charge of the war chest. Then he has the nerve to put down the war efforts. Old John probably can't do jack for this area's roads because he doesn't have the pull, or won't, because he has his priorities. If he finally ever hangs it up, though, it won't help anyone in this area, because it takes many years for any congressman to get on the right committees and get seniority, in order to take care of their pet projects( earmarks).

Re: Murtha
Old Jack has presided over the exodus of people leaving his district. 35 years and where is Johnstown now? The population is about half of what is used to be. Murtha has done nothing to rebuild the infrastructure of his district or make the access to Johnstown any easier. All he has done is line his pockets and create a district dependent on him. Typical democrat- enslave a population to gov't programs.
