Re: Your School's All-Time Starting 5
Tho hoops makes a good point, I dont think he understands the intent behind this topic. Its just fun to think about all the great players that have gone through these school systems and remember some 'glory days' or what have you. I do think that Westmont's team last year COULD have been improved, I mean if they went 35-0 and won a state gold, well then its tough to say, but I def. believe there are some players in Westmonts history that could have helped?

your right Kingdom, he was, but Jablon made that team go.
Re: Your School's All-Time Starting 5
GOOD LIST REPLACEMENT, CANT REALLY ARGUE WITH ANYONE YOU HAVE ON THERE
GOOD ASSESSMENT.
ITS JUST UNFORTUNATE THAT THERE WERE QUITE A FEW GOOD BIG MEN ON YOUR ROSTER AND IT DOESNT APPEAR THAT YOU NEED TO ADD ANOTHER ONE WITH GUYS ABLE TO PLAY MULTIPLE POSITIONS.
ITS UNFORTUNATE FOR GUYS LIKE JEB HECKLER AND CHIP HANIK THAT WERE ALSO PRETTY dang GOOD PLAYERS AND COULD BE DESERVING TO BE ON THE ROSTER AS WELL.
VERY GOOD LIST I WISH WE COULD PUT MORE ON BUT WOULDNT REALLY BE RIGHT TO HAVE LIKE 20 GUYS ON A LIST.

Re: Your School's All-Time Starting 5
Wow, those Windber names bring back some memories from the great years of the Tri-County League!
Here's a Cambria Heights list:
G, Bruce Fycklund, still CH's only D-1 boys player (I'm pretty sure)
G, Mike Lamb, most talented player ever at the school, he'd hold every record if he'd played there all four years
F, Bill Vescovi, father, led Heights to second round of interdistricts as a soph in '76 or '77
C, Ian Vescovi, son, he belongs here now based on defense alone.
F, Elmer Weaver, second all-time leading scorer, a beast on the blocks
Bench:
F, Jeff Kosto, all-time leading scorer but I have a hard time putting him above anyone in that lineup
F, Chris Bills, great shooting touch for someone 6-6
G, Chris Lamb, not the physical player or leaper that his brother was but nearly as good in his own right
G, Scott Rudolph (still the best high school defender I've ever seen)
I'm fuzzy on the 60's, sorry if I missed an old timer (older than Frycklund!).
Interestingly, no true point guard and none that I can think of. Same situation they're facing with an excellent team coming back next year.

For Cambria Heights....
Mike Lamb also played division 1. He spent a year at Mount Aloysius before transferring to St. Bonaventure.
I will also add Bill Marshall to that list.
