Re: Some stats from MaxPreps
Just to throw this out there, the best pitcher that I have seen all year is Luke Curtis from Philipsburg-Osceola. He was said to have been clocked at 89 mph last summer and just threw a no hitter yesterday against AAAA Central Mountain who is 7-2.... And get this.... He's only a sophomore!
And another thing I was wondering is what all teams are in the Curve Classic this year? Does anyone know a schedule? I saw that it was next weekend but saw nothing about who was playing in it.

Re: Some stats from MaxPreps
Hmmmm, interesting. In my opinion, ERA is the most worthless high school baseball stat going since there's no uniform scoring system and the judgment on hit vs. error comes from the home team. I guess to a lesser extent, that also applies to batting average and slugging percentage. At least, things like home runs, RBIs, strikeouts are measurable and don't involve as much judgment. Just my two cents, not trying to downplay any individual's accomplishments.
