Wow, I did not get to watch the draft but Mendenhall and Sweed both falling to the Steelers. I heard them both going in the top 10 Mendenhall fell the 23rd and Sweed fell to the end of the second round. Also, Connor and King both projected to go easily in the first round are still available after 2 rounds.

If Sweed stays healthy, he will be a good receiver in the NFL. I got to see a lot of him playing at Texas and the kid can flat out play. The Steelers made a great choice with their 2nd pick.

Tony Hills has talent. There's no doubt about that. He was actually a 5-star tight end when he committed to Texas, so he has good mobility for a lineman. He got injured last season like Limas. So, both of these guys fell down the draft board. If he is healthy, Hills can start on the Steelers offensive line this year or next.

I for one would love to see Pro teams bring back the Option attack (not wing T, etc.) just 1 or two back sets. Illinois ran it and so did Oregon so it would be nothing new for Dixon and Mendenhall -- mixin it up would be fun to watch.

Realistic? Who knows? The MIGHTY Jets gave the #1 Defense in the league (Steelers) problems with it last season.

Thoughts?

I give Colbert and Tomlin credit, they went for it. If you'd have looked at what the Steelers ended up with this year, one year ago, you'd have thought the got 4 straight picks from 11 to 15. Mendenhall will not only provide insurance, but will be pushing Parker for his spot by next season. Sweed(broken wrist),Hills(broken leg), and Dixon(ACL) were all legit top half of the 1st rounders before their injuries and Davis was projected by some as a late 1st rounder. If all 3 rebound from their injuries and produce the type of careers they are capable of, it could go down as the 2nd best draft in team history. If they don't, and flame out.......Colbert and Tomlin may end up caddying for Dave Littlefield. They took a big chance, only one lineman, where they need help,NO CORNERS in a very deep draft for corners. I really hope these guys pan out.

The Steelers got the best available talent with their selections. I really hope it works out. It doesn't matter how good the skilled players are if there isn't any blocking and the steelers o-line is much depleted. Also no help on the d-line or secondary.
