Today, the much maligned Andrew Quarless was reinstated on the PSU football team, despite 75 underage drinking fiascos for a 19 year old kid. Andrew Quarless was supposed to be the next great Penn State TE, and all he's done so far was drop passes and get into trouble. Granted, a lot of his lack of production was Morelli's fault. However, now with him back, what do you do with Mickey Shuler?

I kind of like the way Shuler plays, and I think he's probably the most underrated kid on that whole team. Definitely on offense, at least. This is a kid who plays very hard, plays above his talent level, stays out of trouble, and pretty well takes advantage of his opportunities. He does not have the raw talent that Quarless has, but I think Shuler has proven himself to be the best option at Tight End until he screws up. I know it doesn't make much sense to say that he is not as good as Quarless, yet is better than Quarless, but that is where I am right now on Shuler.

I am very curious to see what Paterno does at the TE position this season. Is it inherently Quarless's job, or is he going to play Mickey Shuler at that spot? How many chances are you going to give a kid who disappoints time and time again? And how many times has Shuler made a nice play when he was given a chance to do something? Like I said, he's not great. He's not Kyle Brady, he's not Gilmore, Stewart, or even Quarless, but I think he has earned his spot until he blows it.
