Ex-ups wrestlers accused in thefts
Men charged in frat burglary implicated in other incidents

BELLEFONTE — Two former All-American wrestlers for Penn State jailed on charges they burglarized a State College fraternity last weekend have been implicated in six or seven other burglaries, according to court documents and a Centre County prosecutor.
Eric Bradley, 26, of 116 Edith St., Apt. 1, State College, and Patrick D. Cummins, of 110 Mustang Trail, Reinholds, were arrested early Friday morning after police said they stole almost $3,000 worth of items from Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity in the 200 block of East Beaver Avenue.
Cummins is a two-time All American at Penn State who is scheduled to be in Las Vegas in two weeks to try out for the U.S. Olympic team.
Bradley also is a two-time All-American, and a two-time Big Ten champion who was participating in mixed martial arts.
They are now being held in the Centre County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 straight bail each.
Search warrants secured by State College police the night of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon burglary and filed at the Centre County Prothonotary’s Office indicate officers found stolen items, including computers and prescription medications, taken in other burglaries in the past year.
Centre County Assistant District Attorney Steve Sloane said police are investigating whether Cummins and Bradley were involved in “six or seven” other fraternity burglaries.
The men, both represented by attorney Phil Masorti, are scheduled to be in Central Court for preliminary hearings this morning.
"We're waiving the preliminary hearing and we will be cooperating in the investigation," Masorti said. "This was just a post-collegiate misadventure."
Two men who were staying at Sigma Alpha Epsilon heard noise and, when they went to investigate, found two men they later identified as Bradley and Cummins loading a pickup truck with fraternity members’ property, police said. The pair also got the registration plate, which helped State College police catch up with the former Nittany Lions as they were unloading the truck at Bradley’s Edith Street apartment, according to court documents.
According to an inventory of seized items filed in court, police recovered items stolen from the fraternity and found computers, prescription medications, guitars, camcorders, MP3 players, an Xbox and Xbox games and other electronic equipment thought to have been taken during other unsolved burglaries dating back more than a year.
State College police said that during their search of Bradley’s apartment, where Cummins was staying, they found a prescription that was reported stolen by a member of Phi Kappa Theta fraternity during a burglary on Dec. 22, 2006.
Bradley ended his career in 2006 ranked eighth in the country. Cummins was the national runner-up as a heavyweight in 2004, his senior year.
