If you think Auburn is headed back to the title game, I have an argument against that. I'm not gonna type it all out again, but I think Auburn's train is about to get derailed. Me and Robert Stack and the rest of the crew at Unsolved Mysteries have put together a big Auburn article. If you or anyone you know has any more information as to why Auburn hired Paul Rhodes, please call 1-800-Paul-Sux. All calls are semi anonymous.

We could play each other and end all of this?????

oohh nevermind we cant have the State's university losing any cash by playing 2 hours down the road

OH for anyone that happens to buy the Athlon EASTERN preview(yes Penn State and Boston College are in the Eastern preview along with the Big East i know it makes so much sense?)

Classic quote by an annimous coach in the magazine sizing up Penn State
I dont remeber it directly but it went something like...."Terrelle Pryor hurt" "Penn State doesnt control their state like they used to but still have a good hold on their home turf"

Just for fun i counted up the rosters of both teams(Pitt and UPS) in the magazine penn state had about 30 pennsylvanians compared to Pitt's 80+ Keep living the dream boys!

Now, do the real research and go see how many kids picked Pitt over Penn State, and vice versa, when they had offers from both. You can do all the research on Scout.com. I'd do it myself but I'm not the one who needs to be shown the evidence. Then take into consideration how much talent Penn State has taken from Virginia, Maryland, NJ, Delaware, etc. For all this "controlling your home state" stuff, how many winning seasons has it gotten Dave Wannstedt and Pitt? This year, I did pick Pitt to win the Big East, but that's not saying much. I still think this is a 8-4 team at BEST.

Then, take a look at WVU and Rutger's commit list and offers board and see how many of THOSE kids have Pitt offers as well.

Sure I disagree with how PSU recruits sometimes and who they neglect, but they still end up getting good players. They do a pretty good job for the most part. And yeah, PSU lost kids to OSU and Michigan, but those kids had Pitt offers as well.

Once again, TAE sums it up.

I remember when Penn State failed to sign Joe Montana and Raghib Ismail, both Pennsylvania boys....My God, the world was coming to an end....

All that needs to be said Pitt got the best player to have come from Pennsylvania in years to come play for them and in the final 2 of his recruiting process it was Pitt vs. Penn State and LeSean McCoy chose Pitt.

Im not negating the fact Ohio State can come recruit in Western PA. Being in 2 National Championships in a row comes with a territory to recruit anyone anywhere soo thats expected. Of the top players to have come from D7 this past year

Pryor-OSU
Baldwin-Pitt
Nix-Pitt
Hayle-Pitt
Yancich-UPS
Saddler-Pitt
Wilson-North Carolina
Sweat-Ohio State
Sunseri-Pitt

But Pitt is doing much better now in PA

Corey Brown of Gateway decides today (Pitt or Ohio State)
Thomas Jefferson's Brock Deccico as well(id guess Pitt cause his older bro is on the team)
EJ Banks of Montour is coming closer to a descion(quite a few times in the running among Pitt OSU and Rutgers)
Todd Thomas is out there yet
Dan Mason from Penn Hills both 4 stars

Pitt started out slow but can still get some solid in staters to make this a respectable class
I think Rutgers has Big East '09 recruiting crown ending Pitt's streak at 3

All I'm gonna say is the exact same thing that was said by you Pitt fans about Penn State:

Recruiting doesn't matter if you can't win games.

When Pitt got rid of Rhodes, I actually thought Pitt was finally turning the page. I like Phil Bennett because he was the coach down here at SMU and he's honestly a really, really great human being. But go look at his numbers. For however nice he is, he can't recruit, he can't win games, and SMU's defense was by all accounts a nightmare. There's a reason the guy got fired, and don't tell me that they fired him b/c they knew they could get Jones from Hawaii. Remember, that SMU AD rallied many, many individual alumni to pay Jones' contract, well after they kicked Bennett out of town. Guys, if you can't recruit in the Dallas- Ft Worth area, you can't recruit anywhere. Like I said, I really like Phil Bennett, I think he has a chance to redeem himself, but this might be a bad hire, it honestly could be worse than when you had Rhodes. And, on top of that, Wannstedt is supposed to be a defensive guru, and where has that gotten Pitt?

Pitt has a chance to really make a stride this season because they are a little better than usual and the rest of the Big East MIGHT be down. But what happens if Pitt loses 5 or 6 games this year and finishes 4th in the conference? At some point you point the finger at the head coach.

Yeah im not a huge wanny fan soo ive been poiting the finger at him and his coordiantors for some time now

hes had talent and hes had some big time players the past 3 years and now he has probably the best team in his tenure at Pitt with probably one of the most talented teams in Pitt history This definatley needs to be a 9-10 win year for him if not id give him the boot. And i know Pitt will only be 8-4 or 7-5 and thatll mean more Wanny for years to come sadly

I think this Pitt experiment under the Wannstedt tenure is proof positive that you have to have a quality staff. You can't do it alone. Dave Wannstedt is a very, very nice guy, he's doing a much better job than anyone figured by keeping a few of the higher-touted prospects in-state. But look at who he allows to be on that staff. Cavanaugh is a terrible coach. Rhodes was worse. So they go out and hire a guy who has a bad track record to replace Rhodes. It just doesn't seem like they are breeding a winning atmosphere. That staff is Dave Wannstedt's discretion.

It's OFFICIAL TAE does not have a life!!!!!!!!!!!! I registered for this site just to announce that. I have been coming to this site for quite awhile just to read what some people have to say about different topics and there was one thing I noticed. TAE, the majority of the time posts things that no one responds to, because no one gives a rats **** what he has to say. Then he gets on here and posts a response such as this
You should have seen the clinic I put on your wife last night!
, GET A LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're officially the Mark May of bleachercoaches- you have no clue what the hell your talking about. I think you do all these posts just so you can reread them to yourself. The headlines to this site should read: TAE- The self-proclaimed sports genius, only on bleachercoaches!!!!!!!!!!
