Week 1 Thoughts

Post by cambriaalum »

It was a rough night for the LHAC Cambria's last night. I expected the Highlanders to get pounded but I was also expecting the Red Devils and Panthers to come away with close victories. Any thoughts...

Good job Coach Sponsky! Look out D6 Single A Teams. The teams will be saying a lot of rosaries during the playoffs as the three Bishops rule the A playoffs. Maybe Bellwood should change their name to Bishop Antis.

Also, congratulations to Laurel Valley's Coach Page for getting 200 wins. What a great accomplishment!

Way to go Altoona! Showing the state of PA that there is good football between Harrisburg and Pittsburgh.

And what is wrong with the LHAC. The two best teams (FH and BM) will not even play each other this fall. They will most likely both end up undefeated. What a shame...

Don't count out B-A just yet. They got a whale of a team; Tyrone is just that good. Bellwood will have a say in the Class A playoffs.

Seidel had a nice game for the Crushers
but seriously.....Lowry needs to get the ball a little bit more.
Schrey looked good at QB. Hewitt did ok. Theyll start to throw the ball more when it comes times. The battle continues on into next week aginst Guilfoyle.

I was at the Pitt game but heard about the Westy-BG game. Wow sounds like a thriller. Tough way to go down for the Hilltoppers. Theyll bounce back.

Maybe a preview of what the class A Championship may be? McCort and Guilfoyle Running vs. Passing. The Battle of the Bishops. I think it will be a good one at Mansion Park Friday night

The Rangers are for real this year by the way. Tyrone better be ready for them.

CC...what happened?

After the first couple miscues by the FH defense in the frst couple minutes of the game they looked really good. Their offense clicks on all cylinders. I have no clue who josh paulson (sp?) is but I thought FH would only have on good wide receiver. This kid can catch run pretty well after the catch and also throw a pasS (sorry if I am wrong I believe he threw a pass). Having him and Rosenburger at wide will make FH s offense that much harder to stop. Defense is young they will make their share of mistakes it is inevitable no matter how good they are high school football is about 4 times the speed of junior high there is no way around that. The thing that I loved about the defense was that they all run to the ball all eleven players you see no one walking around. Also the mistakes they made were do to the lack of knowledge not the lack of hustle and that is a really good sign.

Also about Somersets first touchdown. That play they ran was some kind of pitch where the slot cut in frnt of the running back and caught the pitch and went the other way. MY GOD I think my eyes till this day Sunday two days after the game are still following that running back without the ball. Very nice play but that only thing is I dont believe I saw it the rest of the game dont understand it when you got a seventy yard touchdown run out ofit.

Paulson is the taller receiver I believe? I'm pretty sure he was one of many kids who went down with a season ending injury last year for the rangers, pretty decent baseball player from what I remember. #43 was also an impressive receiver but not sure who the hell he is. It looks like Glesner is by far the best quarterback in the LH after week 1.
