Obama's pig comment

Vman is obviously very good crunching the numbers telling us why Obama's plan won't work. I'm sure if this board had board around in '92 and '96 he would have told us the same thing about Clinton's plan. If this board had been active in 2000, he would have told us how bad Gore's plan was and how great Bush's economic policy would be. Maybe now in 2008 he can explain how a republican president has allowed the national debt to go from 5 trillion to 10 trillion. That is a $5,000,000,000,000.00 increase in 8 years. Bush's administration added as much to the debt than the previous 42 presidents before him.

Now, we have a guy who does claim to know much about the economy running for president. His plan will change nothing. Sure, he wants to cut taxes even more, but will he realistically be able to accomplish that? That's pretty much the crux of his plan and it likely won't get carried out. Therefore, what will really change from an economic perspective if McCain is elected?

And by the way, the fuss over the pig comment was utterly ridiculous. As it was pointed out, Obama was clearly remarking about the economic policies put forth by McCain. It's just more republican spin to stay away from the real issues. As Obama pointed out later, we have real problems that need to be addressed but we spend 2 days talking about pigs.

Obama is a socialist/Marxist plan and simple. Check your history once a runner and let me know if it has ever worked. As for the pig comment--give me a freakin break.....he called her a pig and you feel thats ok?

For those who forget......When the GOP controlled Congress for 2 years in the nineties, it's like since they didn't have control of Congress for over forty years, they didn't quite know what to do with themselves, and when they lost control, thanks to Jim Jeffords, Bush needed help to get his spending for the troops and other programs pushed through a DEM- controlled Congress. So, he left guys like Teddy "the swimmer" Kennedy write the EDUCATION bill and its corresponding H U G E spending increases. Health care? Same basic story. And some wonder why a surplus has turned into a huge deficit and are too stupid to do anything except blame GW. Remind me, please.....when WAS the last time we were attacked? Except in the wallet.
