I C C Week 9
I C C Week 9
Holy smokes, it's the final week of the regular season for the ICC already. Coach, that all-icc thing is gonna be tough, I don't know any lineman at all, but I'll try to get to it eventually. Now, the picks...
Claysburg 4-4 (3-2) @ Everett 6-2 (4-1)
Claysburg got a really nice win at home last week over evenly-matched Glendale. With last weeks win, the Dawgs will be in the D6 playoffs baring a SH upset over Mo Valley, but might as well not even enter if they make it. Everett is trying to stay sharp and lock up a first round bye and top seed in D5. Everett's experience shines through...
EVERETT 28 Claysburg 12
Glendale 3-5 (2-3) @ Tussey Mountain 3-5 (2-3)
Glendale had its heart broke last week in the Dawg Pound by Claysburg while Tussey continues to win the games it has to. Where has Bickford gone? He has gotten like 3 or 4 carries combined the last few games and he was their main offensive weapon early on. I like Tussey to keep the ball rolling at home behind RB Neuder...
TUSSEY 14 Glendale 6
Juniata Valley 2-6 (1-4) @ Williamsburg 0-8 (0-5)
JV 28 Wburg 6
West Branch 0-8 (0-5) @ Northern Bedford 6-2 (4-1)
Arguably the hottest team in the ICC (Bellwood stays hot 24/7), Northern Bedford just keeps getting better every week. I think everyone in the Everett and Northern Bedford areas are hoping to see these two meet up in Bedford with a D5 title on the line. NB playing their best football against Everett who has been consistently solid on both sides of the ball all year long. But both teams still have some work to do. West Branch....pffftttt
NORTHERN BEDFORD 34 West Branch 8
Mo Valley 7-1 (4-1) @ Southern Huntingdon 3-5 (1-4)
UPSET ALERT...The Altoona Mirror reports Southern QB Crull might be back which would be a nice boost for the Rockets. Southern is playing for a playoff spot and I expect them to come out ready to go. Mo Valley isn't playing their best football heading into the playoffs. I would say the Knights are worse than their 7-1 record shows. I for one would like to see a MV vs. NB rematch away from Houtzdale right about now. I think Mo Valley has actually backtracked a bit, but I could be wrong. If the playoffs started today, 5 Mo Valley would play 12 Bishop Guilfoyle. Yikes, not a good first round match up for MV at all. I’m taking a rejuvenated Rocket squad at home in the upset.
SOUTHERN HUNTINGDON 27 Mo Valley 20
ICC CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY DR. PEPPER
MOUNT UNION TROJANS 6-2 (4-1) @ BELLWOOD ANTIS 7-1 (5-0)
This game loses a bit of its luster after Northern Bedford shocked Mount Union last week, but the Trojans nonetheless still won the ICC south by criteria. This is an important rebound game for MU. A win and they are right back on cloud 9 heading into the playoffs, where they could obviously do some damage. However, and blowout loss and they are riding a rough 2 game losing streak and a top notch opponent in the first round, where things could get ugly quick. I still think MU is big and tough enough to hang with the Blue Devils if they play their game. Mount Union is good at running the ball, but the only problem is Bellwood is better, and better at stoping it. Bellwood is your undisputed ICC champion of the world.
BELLWOOD 28 Mount Union 16
