Re: Pitt/PSU: PA Taking Center Stage
Saturday's loss was NOT DUE TO COACHING, it was due to exceptionally poor play by Jovanni Chappell and Aaron Berry.
I don't care if Pitt's CBs were both 1:1 all day long. How can you get burned, not once, not twice, but SIX TIMES by a QB who threw 3 TDs the first 6 games????
Both Chappell and Berry should give back a week's worth of their scholarship money after those performances Saturday. Saturday afternoon during that game, I guarantee you that there was some nerdy chick sitting in her dorm room back at the towers studying quantum physics while her dad was out delivering pizzas and selling shoes like Al Bundy to put his daughter through college.
Chappell and Berry should've been made to walk back to campus and give that poor, hard working girl a week of their full rides each, then get mommy and daddy to pay up.
My dog could have covered Rutgers's WRs better than those two clowns...At least my pooch wouldn't have let their WRs get 15 yards behind her six times in a 60 minute game.

very good point.trojanpanther wrote: The list of outstanding coordinators that didn't make it as head coach is long and distinguished. Bennett had some of the best defenses in football while at Kansas State.

Trojanpanther, I see where you are coming from, but wouldn't you agree with me that Wanny (who did well with the Cowboys defense) is also accountable for Pitt's defensive mistakes? How can he not be? When coaches get hired, we hear "oh, he's an offensive genius", etc. Bennett is just as much to blame for SMU as the SMU d-coordinator, buddy.
Titan,
If Teel wasn't such a bum, you would be hearing about how Tijuan Underwood and Kenny Britt are the best WR tandem in the country. They are VERY underrated. Both of them are bigtime NFL prospects. I'm not sticking up for Chappell and Berry, but those WR's are not kids from Syracuse State or Fordham Tech.
I hate to say it, but those CB's are about to get mauled by Notre Dame, BAD.
