Georgia vs. Ohio State (or, PSU vs. Florida)

Post by The Ancient Enemy »

I'm curious how a win over Georgia is better than a win over Ohio State.

Both schools went into the game with UF and PSU with a blowout loss to a top-ranked team. Georgia has a win over an LSU team that definitely isn't any better than Michigan State. Who have MSU or LSU beaten to give either any credibility?

Georgia's secondary schemes were exposed mightily this season. Georgia is ALSO is ranked 2nd in the entire country in penalties, giving up 670 yards. That's because of one reason: BAD COACHING.

On top of all that, FLORIDA LOST TO AN UNRANKED TEAM.

So, by all means, tell me why Florida should be ahead of Penn State.

Florida's win is more impressive because they won by 30. That's the major difference between those two games. However, Florida has lost to an unranked team. They are looking really good lately, though.

Because Ohio State's reputation around the country sucks and Georgia's does not. Georgia does not have the reputation around the country of having been humiliated two straight seasons for the title. Even the most rabid Ohio State fans, and I am surrounded by them, will tell you they can't win the big one. Ok....they won in 2002, but that memory out here is gone.

When the typical non-Big 10 college football fans hears that Ohio State has lost a big game, the response is "That's typical."

But a hostile Horseshoe and a neutral NFL stadium are two totally different things....
