Very interesting VMAN. Since it was a parochial school, did you also learn to apply Boyle's Law to the question of whether Hell is exothermic or endothermic? To wit, a University of Washington student argued the case this way:

"First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing with time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving.

As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell.

With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Heii has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and
pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, "It will be a cold day
in Hell before I sleep with you, and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over.
The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any
more souls and is therefore, extinct...leaving only Heaven thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting "Oh my God."

If you don't know where you're going, you'll probably end up somewhere else.

Portage Alum wrote:These have to be some of the most assinine posts I have ever read on Bleachercoaches. Why in the world do you Pro-Parochial Morons keep preaching that you are so above Public schools academically? Are you insane? Do you really think kids are enrolling at Carroll, Guilfoyle, and McCort for educational intent? You got to be kidding me!

Parochial schools in our area are way behind educationally in technology and in basic areas like textbooks, etc. Also, the educators parochial schools employ are second rate. They hire teachers who didn't get hired by public schools...or....are waiting to get hired by a public school. Why would the best teachers in our area settle for a third of the pay they would garner at a public school? Because they didn't get hired at a public school!

And actually saying that graduation rates are higher at our local parochial schools....prove it! And saying that our local parochial schools bring in more scholarship money than publics, BULLCRAP! Getting aid to go to St. Francis and the Mount because their Catholic institutions isn't impressive and doesn't constitute "Scholarship" money.

Go Publics!

I'm not an expert in this area but its surprising to hear people saying McCort, Carroll, and Guilfoyle are the top three academic schools in the area. I am a big supporter of catholic schools but would tend to not send my kids to such schools because of academics (more opportunities at publics in my mind). I've heard of teachers using the catholic schools as stepping stones to better paying jobs at public schools. I figured the catholic high schools didn't pay their teachers top dollar and, while money, isn't everything, I tend to think that salary is somewhat an indication of how good a faculty a school will attract. I am not saying that a teacher that makes $40,000 can't be the best teacher out there; it's just a fact that often times the best are attracted to higher paying jobs.

Am I completely wrong? Do their veteran teachers make $60,000 to $70,000?

the kid who transferred to mccort from LV is a very good student who may have finished top in his class, therefore could have had tons of scholarship money even if he had stayed. his father made the comment that he would get a better look for a football scholarship at mccort. just a few days after telling coach page he would be back in the weight room, and was not leaving, he was in the mccort wt. room.
