Dan Orlovsky is a real genius

Post by The Ancient Enemy »

Dan Orlovsky, of great UCONN fame, not only accidentally ran out of the back of the endzone when looking for a receiver this season, but also...

"LIONS QB OUT WITH MULTIPLE THUMB INJURIES"

Detroit Lions quarterback Dan Orlovsky has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Jaguars after it was revealed he has two fractures and a torn ligament in his right thumb.

Orlovsky will visit another specialist next week to determine whether he will need surgery. He said he remains hopeful he will be able to return later in the season.

Lions coach Rod Marinelli has yet to name his starting quarterback for Sunday, although it's expected Daunte Culpepper, who was signed on Monday and has taken 80 percent of the snaps with the first-string offense this week, will get the call.

Second-year pro Drew Stanton is Marinelli's other option as Detroit looks for a breakthrough victory after an 0-8 start.

Marinelli also said center Dominic Raiola will miss Sunday's game with a broken right thumb, breaking his streak of 104 consecutive starts.

Senior writer John Clayton covers the NFL for ESPN.com. Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

Now, I AM a multiple-time thumb wrestling champion, but i am NOT a thumb doctor. I only play one on TV and at the emergency room. My question is... where exactly was Dan Orlovsky sticking his thumb and wiggling it around so much that HE TORE A LIGAMENT?

haha once again TAE, you never cease to amaze me..

but im pretty sure I could give you a run for your money with a thumb wrestling match. My thumbs are as swift as a ninja, and as fast as a cheetah.

But im pretty sure he was sticking that thumb where the sun dont shine, if that answers your question. Or maybe somewhere else..

He is just trying to protect himself. He knows the Lions' line can't block.

Greenie (of Mike & Mike fame) had a great point the other morn....why do we have to honor certain traditions?? Enough that You have to sit around all day w/ random family members in your house every Thanksgiving.....we are all then subjected to watching the friggin god awful Det Lions every year! Traditions are changed,World Series @ Nite, Bowl games all on Jan 1, for example....LET A REAL NFL TEAM PLAY ON THANKSGIVING....Enough that I have to loosen my belt & put up w/ 23 nieces & nephews; I don't need indigestion after my turkey by watching putrid fb!
I have to say thank you to me ..." for not being stupid enough to go to Penn State."
