D5 predictions
Re: D5 predictions
Tussey has been decent for the past few years, always above 500. They usually end with a middle seed in D5, usually in the 3 4 5 6 range. But they have two kids back on the mound who had good years last year as well as success in legion and AAABA. Swope is a righty with a live arm, also pretty solid at shortstop and leadoff batter. McMurtrie is a lefty who locates well with decent velocity. Swope is a good hitter, but McMurtrie not so much. Another kid to look out for is Elliott Chamberlain. He's a sophomore, started last year as a freshman, and has played on all kinds of travel teams over the years. I'm not saying that playing on travel teams automatically means your a great player, but he is definitely a nice ball player. Tussey is usually pretty sound defensively and can usually hit, but it has been pitching that has held them back in the long run. Well, now they have pitching so look out.
Re: D5 predictions
I believe that Everett will be "AA" again this year. They actually won the "AA" title last year. I agree they will be a solid team if they get some pitching. Stonestreet was their anchor last year and they lost him to graduation.
Re: D5 predictions
Maybe HR or Sneakers could verify for sure what class Everett will be in for baseball this spring. I would agree with you and say they will be AA. Ewing and Mearkle will be their top pitchers this year. Ewing didn't really pitched much for them at the varsity level, but I saw he got some innings for the legion team in the summer. Mearkle is just a little lefty but is pretty crafty and doesn't have bad velocity. If they can find another decent arm this team could be in the ICC mix, and definitely the D5 race. They also have some position players back, the two I mentioned above both play OF, SS Mills, 3B Grimes.
Re: D5 predictions
Eve's male enrollment of 180...16 above the 164 cutoff...The Warriors will be 'AA' for the spring
Re: D5 predictions
Sneakers is on the ball, preciate it.
Re: D5 predictions
I think northern bedford is going to do well again this year, they have some talent coming up, Corle i think we do well on the mound as did risbon last year. As long as they can buckle down and get the sticks going, they only have 2 returning starters but the rest of the team has seen some time.
Re: D5 predictions
Snyder will be the ace of the staff for NB. If Risbon and Corle can step up they could make a nice run. If Bowser is healthy they will be in contention for league and district titles. If Bowser isn't healthy, it could be a struggle to score runs unless the younger guys prove they can hit varsity pitching.
Re: D5 predictions
yea bowser could be a big decider for the season, i thought i had heard that he was in need of surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff and was only supposed to play one or two games of this football season but he has been there all season, so i don't know if he will put off basketball. Snyder will be definately wanting a good start to the season after a sub-par finish in the first round of state playoffs where he was pulled and risbon came in and threw a heck of a nice game at the end. Someone behind the plate will also help out there too, there are 2 or 3 catchers fighting for that spot this year all are decent. But in that case the whole team will be "rebuilding" in a sense.

Hah, yeah Sam Watkins graduated and he is the last of em ;)S Cube wrote:I think Watkins graduated, but knowing them there is another younger brother on the way.
Re: D5 predictions
I read a post on here that Somerset has shirts that say 'we don't rebuild, we reload.' That statement has been true for Northern Bedford, the combo of vets and youngsters should make NB a tough out again.
