Second Round of Pool Play

Northern Cambria lost their second match to Maplewood 2-1 and thus had no chance of advancing to the semifinals. A disappointing first two matches for the young Colts. Things didn't go as expected. Northern Cambria, however, did go out with a win by defeating #1 Reading Holy Name 2-1. I figured going in that whichever team (North Star of Northern Cambria) would win the first match would probably advance and the other wouldn't. Congrats Colts on another great season. Keep your heads up.

North Star lost to Reading Holy Name in their second match and that set up a win or go home matchup with Maplewood in the last match. North Star won all three sets to finish pool play at 2-1. Reading Holy Name and North Star advance from this pool to the semis. Holy Name gets #1 seed from pool due to the fact that they beat North Star. The Cougars will play Beaver County Christian tomorrow. Other semi is Reading Holy Name vs Clarion. Good luck Cougars. Bring home the gold!

North Star fell to Reading Holy Name 22-25, 25-19, 25-13, 25-22 but did win the silver medal. Congrats. Looks like it was a good match.
