Broderick Green, I Told Ya So.

Post by The Ancient Enemy »

"Family issues" my "butt". Carroll said it correctly at the very end. That kid chose USC over Penn State when USC had 86 RB's ahead of him that were faster than him and ranked way higher. I said it before and I will say it again, that kid is a prototypical Penn State running back just like incoming freshman Curtis Dukes is. He's a huge RB with a lot of power and better than average speed. He could be starting over Royster this year, IMO. They told him at USC he was going to be "the next LenDale White" and then never let the kid have a chance. Good luck to his family, I hope everything works out, and I hope Green ends up someplace that is a more realistic fit for him.

LOS ANGELES -- Southern California redshirt freshman tailback Broderick Green said he is leaving the program to return to Little Rock, Ark. to be with his ailing grandmother.

The 6-foot-2, 235-pound Green did not play against California on Saturday and will officially transfer after the fall semester.

"Because of unforeseen family health issues with my maternal grandmother who raised me and my mother, I have asked the University of Southern California to grant me a scholarship release at the end of the semester," Green said in a statement posted on coach Pete Carroll's Web site. "Over the last few weeks, as I have tried to maintain the desire to be a part of the USC football family, a stronger desire to be closer to family in this time of need has emerged."

Green ran for three touchdowns and 168 yards this season, 121 against Washington State on Oct. 18. He was fifth on the depth chart for the tailback-heavy Trojans.

"Broderick's been a great kid in our program and we're going to miss him," Carroll said on his site. "We wish him the best and look forward to seeing him get settled in wherever he ends up in the future."

Carroll said playing time was also a factor for Green.

"I think the number of guys he's battling against was a concern," Carroll told the Los Angeles Times. "Somewhere in there, that was one of his concerns, but he has a lot of things that are weighing on him."

Pete Carrol is a complete ***...the kid wants to be home with his family during this tough time, and he has the balls to say the kid is thinking about the competition he's up against...WFT? Maybe it's the fact this kid realizes that there is more to life than playing for a college that ILLEGALLY recruits (and has been caught, but yet nothing has ever been done...way to go Reggie Bush), and brainwashes these kids into thinking that they can come out and "play" for this team...that is if they don't mind being 5th or 6th on the depth chart. Carrol is a heck of a coach and recruiter, I give him that...but, for the amount of talent he brings into that program year in and year out there is NO WAY they should lose a game!!! The development of the talent at USC has been PISS POOR lately and it's a shame, b/c if any of these kids went somewhere else...gotten the time to play and develop, they might of been something special.

C'mon now, Chico. A leave of abscence and a release from scholarship are two different things.

ok ok...but it's still a muck out there...more so than that recruiting scandal at Bishop McCort. It's starting to pick up National Coverage, I guess Salem is patrolling the border with a tee and football in hand trying out all the illegals sneaking across the border...guess they need a new kicker?

As Charlie, "I'm a FAT PIECE of WORTHLESS SH!T", Weis announces that he will take over the play calling for ND this week against Navy...the Chi-town Tribune has an interesting article:

Exactly when are Notre Dame's football fans going to get fed up? When are the priests going to get hot under the collar? When will the student body be sick to death of what it is witnessing there in the leprechaun colony? When is everybody who worships at the house of Touchdown Jesus and the home of the Golden Dome going to let the coach there know that his grace period is up? In 2007 and 2008 alone, here is what the Frightening Irish of Charlie Weis have done: Lost 13 of their last 21games. Been shut out three times. Took the worst beating in a season opener in 120 years of Notre Dame football. Had a nine-loss season for the first time. Were defeated by Navy, which it had sunk 43 times in a row. Accordingly, there are some who believe that Saturday's game in Baltimore against the Midshipmen could be sink-or-swim time for ND's coach. One more unfathomable defeat could turn out to be the last straw -- No More Mr. Weis Guy.
