Oddly enough, had BA won last night and PL win tonight (as well as Central over FH)..the end of the world would be upon us featuring Dragons vs Devils

Re: Central vs Forest Hills
Central just kept holding off FH after falling behind by 12 early.
The biggest plays:
Central runs a sweep left, reverse right, pass back to the qb. The play didn't go as planned as the reverse was mishandled and fumbled, but this made it work even better as FH came after the ball allowing Forshey to get WIDE OPEN for the big first score.
Central on their own 8. Runk in the shotgun set takes the snap himself, it is high and he deflects it down and takes of 92 yards up the middle for a score. This play was HUGE.
The play that could have changed everything....
12-0 FH. They kick off and it is a floater that the CHS kid can't get to in the second row. 2 FH kids were there, but they tried to scoop it and advance it (which you can't do anyway). They weren't able to get a handle on the ball and booted it out of bounds. Had someone just jumped on it for FH, things could have been different. I'm not faulting any kids or coaches though. It was just the way things went for each team. FH's kid just tried to scoop it instead of rolling on it. Tough break, but he was giving all he had so... it is what it is for them.
Great game to be at. Cafferty is a huge matchup problem in the red zone for teams. Runk has wheels. The coaching staff at CHS is creative and finds ways to make plays. They are often outsized but they make big plays. I know CC will have a big size advantage up front.

Re: Central vs Forest Hills
I second each of Coach's notions/recounts of the highlights of the Central/FH game.
I would also note that Central's lineman seem to have the advantage late in the 4th quarter in terms of conditioning as opposed to FH. Runk did make a few clutch runs from his Wildcat/Runkcat/Polecat position, but the linemen each got a body on the FH defenders and made some room.
Great, great win for the Central program and community. Arguably, the best win for the CHS football program in the last 20 to 30 years. We might have to go back to the Monte Smith days to challenge that thought.
As Coach and I were discussing at the start of the third quarter, why, why, why did FH elect to kick the ball to start the second half after deferring to Central in the first half. Central, in turn, received the ball to begin each half. I am sure there is some strategy in terms of wind/scoreboard/field position, but all it did was allow Central to run a few plays and run 3 to 4 minutes off the clock.
Also, another great example of how momentum swings in HS football or any sport for that manner is hard to control and can carry a seemingly weaker team to victory.
With this win, look out for the Scarlet Dragons in the next two years...lots of sophomores and juniors getting big time experience and coming through in the clutch.
