NHL Winter Classic

Watched both football games today, and the Winter Classic between the Pens and Sabres from Jan. 1st. I just wanted to point out that I would much rather watch the Pens win that game 100 times over and over again, than watch the Lions, or Seahawks ever again.

Wish the Pens could play in the Winter Classic every year, like the Lions do on Thanksgiving day.

It just seems only right. Penguins = Winter Classic.

Also read online that the next time the Pens play in the winter classic it could be played at Beaver Stadium. Could you imagine 100,000+ people at a hockey game?

they wanted to make an outdoor game between the pens and the flyers at beaver stadium a yearly thing... doubt it will happen. the commish thinks that having too many outdoor games won't make them special anymore.

which is totally ridiculous....the NHL got the unexpected biggest booster shot it could have imagined w/ the Pens & Det in the finals...build on it you idiot....the Pens & Flyers out doors @ the Beve would be a happening & tv ratings would support such scheduling coups!

You guys keep asking me about this winter classic. I mean, how many times I gotta tell ya I DONT KNOW. But the Flyers, they're down the road, an' that. They got that number 40, he's a heckuva player. You guys ask these questions like I'm here to answer them. The penguins, they had this player. Beaver Stadium is a great place to watch a ball game, i mean, they got a heckuva stadium up there. I dont know where you guys get this stuff. Philadelphia, they used to have a big. I mean, they got a heckuva city, and the whole bit.

vman, the NHL front office is a joke. the NHL has got some of the most dedicated and enthusiastic fans out of all the pro sports, and yet the comish runs the league like it's some second rate sport. they have had every opportunity to put hockey at the forefront of american sports entertainment and they have failed repeatedly. i'm pretty sure the NHL had recently surpassed the NBA in terms of fan support even with a crappy front office, imagine what they could do with a good group at the helm.

hear ya 'count & this recent inactivity in not having an outdoor game (which was a rating bonanza last yr) typifies their malaise! Hello, you're on the most obscure network in the Western Hemisphere, whose previous highlights were a bunch of Euros riding bikes for like 112 straight days, & you have chances ( I would have had outdoor games yesterday, Christmas eve or day & NY eve or day) to garner some viewers/ratings & you do nothing? I just hope hockey does not end up on BET2 & you need an HD Converter box/Rabbit ears/ Aluminum Foil Deflector Beanies just to tune in !!

Busy morn...then Pitt @ noon & BM @ Charlie Mansion stadium tonite...hope I don't end up w/ multiple objects inserted in face but let me know how Pens fare.

well they are having a winter classic this year between chicago and detroit at wrigley field, but even still i see nothing wrong with having multiple outdoor games. and the way that the league has dealt with this all-star controversy is absurd.
