What a mess thats been created
Unless Alabama wins their last two games and becomes the national champion forever more we shall wonder how really was the best team in college football this season. Lets look at a few potential situations.
1. Flordia beats 'Bama, OU beats Missouri:
This will mean that 2 one loss teams will be playing for the national championship. This will also create a situation where many, many teams could finish with 1 loss such as Texas, 'Bama, USC, Texas Tech, Penn State, not to mention Utah, Boise State, and Ball State that all could finish undefeated. Wow, if polls did not have to vote with the BCS championship each poll may have a different champion.
2. Missouri beats OU, UCLA beats USC, VT beats BC,:
What mess will this create, well this will mean that 4 loss Oregon State, 4 loss VT, 3 loss Missouri, and 2 loss Cincinatti will all be guarenteed BCS bowl bids. This will leave most of these teams in the top 10 out: Oklahoma, Texas Tech, USC, Utah, Boise State, and Ohio State. Can you talk about crappy bowls games well here is what they will look like: Rose #8 PSU vs UR Oregon State, Orange #25 VT vs. #16 Cincinatti, Fiesta #20 Missouri vs #6 Utah, Sugar 'Bama or Flordia vs. Boise or Ohio State. This looks like bowl games you would see played about Dec. 28th not BCS bowls

This would put Texas in the National Championship right? Well, will the voters put a team that does not even finish in the top 2 of their conference in the national championship game? Plus, we all know that for some odd reason the national media has an obsession with USC. I can see in my crystal ball some way of the voters getting USC in South Beach still. I feel if this happens Texas should get the nod, but if USC hangs about 80 on UCLA the voters can have minds of their own.

This is what the BCS wanted. This is what they got. I'm sick of it. A playoff is needed, but it's not coming any time soon. We all will have to live with what we have. Florida vs. Oklahoma in the National Championship. Even though, a few teams in the nation are as good, if not better than these teams. All that matters is who is "hot" at the right time. Congratulations to the people that love the BCS system. You got what you wanted. The two "hottest" teams in the nation will play. Forget the teams that beat these "hot" teams earlier on in the season and the teams that have 0-1 losses that might be just as good. Why have a playoff? We have the two "hottest" teams in the nation.

speaking of "hot" if the BCS and voters are going to vote according to "style points" then teams above the mason/dixon line might as well not even consider a national championship bid. A 40 point win in PA, OH, MI, ect. where after mid-october can have 20 degree weather with snow and wind is not near as possible as TX, FL, or CA. A 15-14 win up north at times is just about the best teams can do sometimes.
