The Pittsburgh Penguins Announcer

Post by nLions1 »

I am listening to the game today on the internet, and not watching it like I usually do. One thing I have noticed though is that announcer that says the penalties and time remaining in the period for the crowd.

He is probably the happiest guy I've ever heard. Seriously, what does he have to be so happy about when a Penguin gets put in the penalty box when the game is tied 3-3 at the end of the 2nd period?

Listen to a game once if you get a chance, and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Sorry for the random post by the way haha, I just needed to get it off my chest.

He's doing his job. What more could you ask. If you're in the position, you're supposed to be unbiased to a point. And he does a really good job.

Do yourself a favor and go watch a pens game at Mellon Arena before it's torn down. That place has that ability to get loud. Really really loud.

Been to Steelers, Pirates, and Lions games. Never once been to a Penguins game as much of a fan that I am. Talked to my buddy from Pittsburgh and he said its his goal to get me to a game by the end of this year. I cant wait, Ive heard its quite the experience.

nlions1, wasn't that game on Versus? If so, that's not the pen's announcer, it's the versus station announcer. very different from one another.

and yes, being in the mellon arena for a pens game is by far one of the most exciting things you could ever do.

Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.

No, im talking about the arena announcer in the Penguins arena. Not the commentators. But yeah i understand the being biased thing, but why does he have to be so happy about everything. Why cant he just be monotone?
