why did roman take a shot at richland in the paper the other day?
“ Old-timers aren’t going to mention what you do against Richland, they want to see what you do against Altoona.”
everyone wants to pump johnstown up on this site. they should dominate the lhac, they are beating up on smaller schools. i have no ill will towards them but there coach shouldnt be taking shots at richland. give the oldtimers what they want and go play the schedule you used to and see how good you are

I wouldn’t say that Roman was taking a shot a Richland, he was just stating the FACTS. Alumni from Johnstown do not care how J-town does against any of the schools in the LHAC, Besides McCort, and that’s because both schools are located 100yrds apart.ramtough wrote:why did roman take a shot at richland in the paper the other day?

Now on beating smaller schools the first 3 games of the season has been of equal or greater size, and they have been virtually fairly easy wins. You cant help who you play in your conference, to be honest a lot of J-Towner’s want to leave the LHAC.
And if your basketball archives don’t go back that far the last time J-Town was not in the LHAC they won the MAAC conference also they won D-6 that was the 2000-2001 season.
So before you take offense to something that Roman says in the paper maybe you should think about the history that J-town has had, and the rivalry between them and Altoona. That has been a big game for over 50 years, that kind of history does not just go away by playing 7 years in the LHAC.........And I back that statement 100% being an Alumni of J-Town we dont judge the success of the Trojans on victories agianst Richand, we expect that. We Judge success on District Championships and State Title Runs. Roman will bring that mentality back.

ramtough is trying to read between the lines. I guess the Rams need bulletin board material.
Roman is a repectful coach. I cannot remember him ever taking a shot at an opposing team, coach, or player. I guarantee that the quote was not meant as a shot at Richland, his wife teaches there. You could have substituted the name of any local school and it would have fit. He just happened to say Richland.
Roman is exactly right, as an alum, I am not going to judge the Trojans on what they do against Richland, Westmont, Bishop Carroll, Penn Cambria, etc. I want to see what they do against Altoona. Maybe it is just my old school Trojan mentality, but it is what it is. I long for the days of the MAAC, but with the dwindling population and the geographics make the LHAC a better fit right now and probably in the future.

If i was Richalnd I would be worried about giving the Trojans poster board material by the things that RamTough has posted about there coach.
Richand is bad enough by itself, I dont think they want a pissed off Trojans team to deal with on top of that

Roman would never makes a comment slighting another team, unless it was North Catholic, and they deserve it...
...and if Richland worries about what other coaches say, and they need bulletin board material to get excited about a game against Johnstown, then they have a serious issue.
