Somerset Football?

Post by Officer Farva »

I just wanted to get everybody's views on Somerset. Personally I look for the program to take a repeat performance of a season ago when they went to the playoffs. This team will be loaded with returning letterman.

The Somerset team will do just as bad, if not worse than they did this year. Their returning lettermen show no signs of leadership, or any athleticism at all to give any indication of a good team, or season for years to come. I look for Somerset to win no more than 2 games next year, against Cambria Heights, and Bedford if they are lucky. I wish Somerset football the best of luck, and I hope their 2009 season goes over .500.

This is just a question about Somerset athletics in general. I've always wondered why their sports teams are not standouts. I'm not that familiar with Somerset but it seems a school of their size should put out some of the better teams in D6. But hey, it could be a situation like Cambria Heights. A bigger school that has no athletes.

They are consistently successful in Baseball and usually are competitive in other sports.

True, they are definately a baseball town.I thought they would be more competitive in football. They just upgraded their field and locker rooms, etc.they have the pieces in place just need the talent.I think they will develop it.

A plus for Somerset next year is that they do not play FH during the regular season. Not bragging or anything, just a fact.

Piaad6,Cambria Heights no athletes? yea in football they aren't good. The Boys basketball team could be a contender for D6 AA this year. The girls basketball team is know in the past for being good as well. Cambria Heights soccer makes the playoffs every year as well as the Cambria Heights softball team and the baseball team has its ups and downs like any other school. You could say somerset has no big guys and physical guys for a football team but they beat teams all over the baseball field all the time. The Somerset boys Basketball team has been good for the past 2 years. Football doesn't measure the athletes in the school.
