Re: The Big 4 of Shade
In my most humble opinion, 'being physically strong' certainly is helpful, but I ain't humble when I say that some kids have a basketball (let's call it savvy) that isn't built up in a weight room and it's something the coach can't practice. I'm sure that someone will back me up with statistics and info on basketball players who aren't built like football players who excel in the game of basketball.
It's quite obvious that you are a bitter Blacklick fan who probably wouldn't have posted this if your individual players would not have played Shade. Heck, you left the game early anyway!
The boys from Blacklick played quite a game and it is shortsighted of you to discount a comeback from them (sure they probably wouldn't have come out the winner). They were, without a doubt, the best competition in WestPAC that the team from Shade has seen thus far.

They look physically weak, Kaminsky needs to get stronger but if he has not done it at this point apparently he is not going to do it. They are good but just at this level, they will not go very far in the state playoffs.

Re: The Big 4 of Shade
Not a big Blacklick fan nor am I bitter about Shade winning. Shade is a terrific team. I was just saying that I thought Shade had the game well in hand. Blacklick played a decent half of basketball but remember so did Township and CC and the end result was a blowout. Shade makes great adjustments.
The strength statement was not being insulting to any player but do you see the college level players and a lot of high school players today. I hope Shade wins the States, why would we not want that. It is great to see any school from this area move on.

i agree that the shade players wont be able to play for ne D1 schools. I think they could make a small D2 school and a D3 school though.

If you can play at any level beyond high school you should consider yourself fortunate.

Re: The Big 4 of Shade
There must have been a post removed somewhere on here about a Dist 5 basketball player playing at the D1 level. I can't find it.........unless the WPIAL Titan can show me where...I think he needs to cut back on the egg nog.

It's a little troubling that a moderator comes out of the blue reflecting on something never posted, from way out in WPIAL land nonetheless.

Re: The Big 4 of Shade
I beleive kaminsky has the skill to play at a "smaller" D1 school, but the physicality needs to improve before that could happen. A good fit would be a UPJ i think.
