Pitt gets commit from 4 Start LB

Pitt got a verbal commitment from Penn Hills 4-star MLB Dan Mason. Mason, the 8th ranked MLB in the nation, received offers from Penn State, Boston College, West Virginia, and Toledo.

HUGE GET tp! Of course we'll hear that he really wasn't UPS material haha. I am holding breath re signing Holmes the DT out of NJ. I know a lot of people think that athlete Josh Evans, also out of Jersey, is a can't miss stud of a prospect but if we get Holmes I really think that cements a very, very good class that a few weeks ago seemed 'weak' in compariso to the last few yrs.....Now Holmes & Evans; that would be a coup!

Hey, its not a joke. Mason said a few times he wanted a PSU offer, and there was no room left at the inn. Rumor is that he is not 6'0" and grades are not bad but aren't good. I'm not saying this kid isn't a player, this is def. a very nice pick up. Pitt has some defensive kids I'm really intrigued about for next season.

Pitt's had a nice couple weeks, recruiting wise. Any chance that TX QB gets a look in 2009? Or did they chase him as an ATH?

According to Scout.com, Mason was offered by Penn State, West Virginia, Boston College, and Toledo.
