Friday night-- NBC @ Tussey Mtn

I am pumped...not quite late 90's pumped, but I'm ready to see a great game in Saxton on Friday night. I'm hoping the Panthers win to split the season series. The game hinges on how well the Panthers contain Zimmerman and if Reed can stay out of foul trouble. The way the game is called means everything in a game like this.

At Tussey? I would say that the forcast for NB would be a heavy dose of cheating by officials, followed by an explosion of Tussey's coach...It will be a summer league game for Tussey, where fouls won't count.

I'm sure you'll have to be there by 6 to get in... It looks like I'll head down after school, have some Pizza in town and enjoy the action shortly thereafter.

TM won by 4...had to hang on after blowing a lead that ballooned to 17 at one point in the fourth.

This was a weird game with no flow at all. I feel like I hated watching it come to think of it. I don't get on here and gripe about refs but this was a strange night. The fouls were very ticky tack, but at least it was that way both ways. The thing that stunk though was a combined 40+ fouls called in the game. There were 17 in the first half and at least 25 in the second. I'm not sure the ball went up the court at any point in the game for a full 2 minutes without a foul being called one way or the other and that was just frustrating.

The crapper of the night came as NB was cutting into a double digit lead and had things under 10. TM inbounds the bound from the baseline after an out of bounds play. Their player runs the baseline to pass it in. Coach Crawford yells--travel, travel, travel... He is fired up and wasn't really saying anything other than giving the no way, no way type of yell. The ref (young guy...first time I saw him) gives Crawford at Tech foul. Then he realizes Crawford was right as the refs huddle up and have a meeting. I have a feeling that they all sort of say, you made the call and can't take the tech back so let's just roll with it. They get their 2 foul shots and the ball and they get a bucket. They got 4 points when in essence it should have been NB's ball because of the travel!!

Anyway, the Titans are very, very young and they play hard. They did a real nice job with in your face defense tonight and frustrated most of the NB shooters all night except for Reed. Late in the game Dodson caught fire hitting like three 3's in the last 2 minutes, but the lack of a second scorer all game really hurt NB in this as Reed was the only guy that could get things going.

***I'm not saying that the refs caused any sort of loss or anything here... I'm just saying I wish they were able to play a bit. Normally you want fouls at TM as a visitor but things were just frustrating.
