Berlin battled and gave it there best shot. Good test for Shade heading into the playoffs.

good job by both teams in that game. Shade just was able to do wat every good team needs to do. Hit shots wen it matters most. The start of the 4th was a big point in the game wen they did that

Williamsburg boys beat Johnstown Christian 63-17

Saw something very heart warming at last nights Portage/Township game.

It was Parent's Night, and when they were introducing the players with their parents, they came to the name of a player who had died last year after an ATV accident. They announced his parents, and then gave a brief description of their son. These parents, after their tragic loss, have continued to support the Portage basketball team in memory of their son. The list of things these two people have done was very impressive. They then gave the parents their son's game jerseys, and asked them to to sit on to bench during the game. The crowd gave the parents a standing ovation, and there were a lot of wet eyes in the house. This was a very emotional scene.

After all of the squabbling that goes on this web site between people and schools ( and you guys know who you are), this moment really put things into perspective. It's just a game, played by young men and women. These parents no longer have to opportunity to watch their son play. All of you who are parents of a player should feel fortunate and blessed everytime your child hits the court. And to those of you who insist of constantly trying to one up each other, just sit back and enjoy a game for a change, and then compliment the kids for playing.

Life is fragile - enjoy it.
