The Bite

Post by Lefteyelouie »

I watched this match and never saw anything that looked like a bite. For those of you that were at regionals, does anybody really know what happened and if the boy that got disqualified got hosed?

Bigtime hosed! I'm biased, but I'm not blind either. Thorpe will realize what he did someday(if he has a heart). Plus I know the kid in question and his family pretty well. He really is the LAST kid that would ever do that. Plus he's one of the more intelligent kids. He tore his ACL in football, waited for his senior season to end before surgery, wanted nothing else in life right now but to go to states; now, the situation, 5-2 lead, 33 sec left to a trip to Hershey, in on a single that would end it,WHY WOULD ANYONE SHORT OF RETARDED BITE ANYONE? Answer, the Thorpe kid saw his season ending, jammed his hand into Jeremys' mouth, and squealed....d7 ref runs to table and disq. Barlett. The ref actually admitted he saw nothing, but there was a mark.....heck how do we know it wasn't there to start with, let alone self inflicted by jamming it into the kids' mouth. Poor and sickening is what it is.

That is kinda the same thing I was thinking. I had said if someone had done that to me and I didn't bite them there would be a fist to the face in the middle of the mat.

If there was no bite that is truely sad.

I was sitting near the Tyrone kid's family and they couldn't believe what was happening. Seriously why would a senior, with a 5-2 lead, in the 5th place match with a trip to states on the line, with 30 seconds left in the match, bite the other kid. Answer: he wouldn't. I don't know how the other kid could live with himself.

Did they really take 10 team points from Tyrone for that? Can that even be done? G's

There was a kid on my high school team who got bit like 3 times by a GIRL from New Oxford. The Northern Bedford kid showed the ref numerous bite marks and he did nothing. I know one person who posts on this site that would remember this...

Yes, I heard over the PA that 10 team points were deducted from Tyrone.

I wonder if their is any video of this match? I know all of mine were taped in HS. Video evidence either way would be nice. If you could see the boy from Tyrone didn't Mike Tyson him then the PIAA should step in and disqualify the D-7 kid from state competition and allow the Tyrone boy to go.

If their was really no bite then what a shame. A trip to states is a huge thing for a kid that has wrestled for most of his life.

S Cube, I do remember that. It was something about that choke hold that made people bite. It happened again my Senior year at Districts, but I handled it the right way that time. I threw a cross face with a closed fist. Jack Pencil stopped the match to penalize me and I showed him the bite marks. He DQ'd the kid without hesitation. Maybe if I wouldn't have used a choke hold people wouldn't have bit me so much.
