NIT=Not Important Tournament...or is that Not Invited Tournament?
The NITwits needed to play a stronger schedule...but I don't know how another 30 point loss to Pitt would've helped matters...After all, Pitt improved their RPI by scheduling IUP.

Looking back at it the lost that really killed PSU was losing to Rhode Island which was the semifinals of a tournament. Had they won that would have set them up with a game against Villanova in the finals rather than Towsen in consy's. Plus it also would have added another win to their overall record.

Bobby Knight spent his whole life playing and coaching in the Big Ten. I"m sure that influenced his call about PSU not making the Big Dance. And did Knight really think the Big Ten deserved 8 teams in the Dance also?

Bobby Knight's argument for PSU was only because of his demand for a 128 team tournament. It really wasn't because he thought PSU got a raw deal.

The reality is that the Lions could point to a number of games that if they would have won they would be in the tournament. I think their AD is ultimately responsible. Their schedule was reprehensible and shows no understanding of how college B-ball works. How much revenue did that moron throw away by not scheduling? How much revenue do they lose when their football team does the same thing? I guarantee that Ohio State generates more revenue and that is partially because they schedule tough in both sports.
