From what we were told on here by McCort fans, this year McCort really wasn't that good and OVERACHIEVED.

U of L guy, why didn't Pitt beat WVU in the big east tourney? Bad games happen. McCort did beat CC twice this year. In the last one I understand that they couldn't even breathe on JM. Give him room and he's hitting his shot-you're toast. I'd be willing to bet that when CC played Quip, the refs let them body up and even hand check, thus not giving him space. Anyway looking at McCort's team, I'd say they had a pretty good year. They beat Somerset twice, J-town, CH, BC, FH, Richland twice, I'm not even sure who else. But keep in mind they did what they had to to make it to the championship game (only CH can say that). Once there, they won.

As far as OMOS 8th grade boys go; they'll be the kids coming up that you all will say McCort recruited!

@Wickedcrossover. I wasn't ripping on McCort in any way as I did not see the CC game, but was just surprised by the score. CC did get better as the year progressed and anyone can have an off game. I've coached for a long time and believe me understand that concept.

As for the OMOS 8th graders, you'll not hear me say they were recruited. I don't really buy into the fall back position of many people that as soon as a private school has any success the only reason for it is that the players were recruited. I've heard accusations of private school recruitment for years but just have never seen a concrete example of it. This from a guy who played at a small public high school and had his career ended in the inter-district playoffs by a private school. The only reason I asked about the OMOS team was out of curiousity. I always like to be on the lookout for good young teams coming up, similar to the J-town junior high team this past season, and I wondered just how good the OMOS team was.

Good post. OMOS 8th have a real nice team. Beat J-town in Benedicts tourney. 3 or 4 kids around 6' who can play with a couple of ball handlers.

lol.. are we really talking about 8th graders? How many of those kids are gonna stay around 6' and go from tall to small when everyone else goes through puberty? Let's keep this high school related atleast. No one really cares about OMOS 8th grade, and if they play so well together I have some bad news that in highschool 3-4 grades play as one, unlike middle school. And there are only 5 positions on the court, catch my drift?

If you're shaving in 8th grade, you're probably done growing. We've all seen big kids on the little league field who peter out and end up smaller than other kids who hit their growth spurt later. BM may just end up with a bunch of guards when these guys are in 11th grade. Thank God 6'6" transfers happen from time to time.
