Re: BW Game notes
Was gonna elaborate more on this game but its late and there's not much to tell.
I thought Clark looked good in limited action. Newsome has a bad release (its painful to watch) but that kid is an amazing athlete who I think will be a much better QB this season than I initially figured. McGloin also looked a lot better than I had imagined, as did local boy Shane McGregor. He really played well. The other QB, Joe Kelly, has some nice toughness. I bet they move this kid to another position where he can have a chance to make the depth chart sometime.
Beachum looked pretty good. I need to see more shoulder-lowering, but I want all my RBs playing like Payton and Jim Brown.
I didn't think the WR ran all that great of routes but it is still very early for this unit to be crisp. I will say though that from top to bottom I was very impressed with them catching everything thrown their way.
I honestly didn't pay much attention to the o-line. Seemed like the QBs had decent time.
Whover 33 is, either Yancich or Zordich, they gotta get that kid on the field. He played excellent at LB and was another PSU mold where he's just like Poz and Connor.
There was virtually no pass rush all day. I dunno if they harnassed them so no QBs took big hits or what, but I am a little worried about that. Secondary did not play well, but they are all underclassmen.
What I saw today was a team who def. has a lot of work to do. But they have 3 months yet. I'm happy with where they are, but they do need a lot of work.

Re: BW Game notes
And since PSU doesn't have an away game til late October really helps too.

Re: BW Game notes
First away game: October 3 @ Illinois.
If the 3rd of October = late, then I can understand why Idiot McCoy scored an 11 on the Wonderlic.

Everyone in the state of Ohio wants Pitt to return here. Not only Frank the Tank, but all Ohio State fans. If Ohio State could put up 72 points on Majors, just think how many they could put up on Idiot Wanny (even without Idiot McCoy).
