PSU adds another RB

Post by The Ancient Enemy »

Rumors started spreading last week that Hykeem Brodie was transferring to Penn State. Those rumors were confirmed Saturday when Tom McAndrew from BWI spoke to him at the BW Game. Brodie is currently at 217 lbs. and "looks to have spent quite a lot of time in the weight room".

Brodie has a great bench (330) and squat (475) for a 5'11" back. Jesus. Ran a 4.5 out of HS.

He graduated HS in 2007.

It was down to PSU and V-Tech. He is transferring from Old Dominion.

Can't play until 2010, right?

Good question. They haven't even played a game yet as a university!

Can you go I-AA to I-A without sitting a year?

I'm pretty sure you can't. I'm not positive on that one, but I don't think so. He is probably going to have to sit out a year.

He does not have to sit if he goes from I-A to I-AA. That is why guys like Ryan Perilloux and Rhett Bomar transfer down. I would assume that transferring up works the same way.

You are wrong. If you go up ( I-aa to I-A ), or across ( from I-A to I-A ) you sit for a year.

Pitt never offered this kid. They don't want him anyway.

Don't I sound like the Nitters talking about Larry Fitz, Shady, Dan Marino, etc.??

According to Sean Fitz of BWI, Brodie can play right away.

Well, if he didn't ever play a down..... But if he was on a scholarship, it would take away from the number years of eligibility he has left.
