Hmm, didn't Lincoln free the slaves and was the first modern day republican president? Wasn't TR a republican and considered quite the "progressive" in his day. I wouldn't characterize either as "liberal".

Your favorite definition of "liberal" doesn't seem to be shared by anyone in either political party in DC.

What's up with the new avatar? Looks like the guy from the "Blue Oyster Bar".
