What's your take on Manny?

Post by count2infinity »

How much of this "I took something prescribed by a doctor and I didn't know it was banned" stuff do you believe?

I don't believe a word of it. If that was truly the case, the league would not have banned him 50 games right away. If he would have told the league that he needed to be on the illegal substance before getting caught with it, he would have been fine. He didn't do that, so he's out for 50 games. It's just Manny being Manny.

I believe him. It just happened before this season, not previous years. No one in their right mind, even Manny, would knowingly take a banned substance during the period. The penalties are too strict and they know their reputation would suffer, so it's very unlikely that he knew what he was doing.

He was taking a female fertility drug! What doctor would prescribe a guy this kind of drug? Plus, it's a drug that is commonly used by steroid users when they are cycling down. This not only shows that Manny is guilty, but has been very well coached in how to avoid detection. The drug was just added to the list of banned substances this year. I believe he has been a user for a long period of time and this completely discredits any accomplishments he has achieved in the past. Put him in line with Bonds and Clemens and do not give them a hall of fame vote.

It has been verified that this was not perscribed by a doctor after all..? Correct me if I'm wrong but that's what I heard.

Didn't believe it from the start... I figured it was either a performance enhancer or a pain killer of some sort. turns out the first was right. It's a drug to help those that were on steroids start their hormone cycles back up. On the bright side manny wasn't lying when he said it wasn't a steroid!

I agree with count its pretty much bs. this substance is used in order to restart testosterone production after doing a cycle. It is used, because the introduction of steroids causes the body to stop natural production. This substance restarts the bodies production. Just another step back for baseball.
