Keeping up with my "Know Your Enemy" philosophy, I often look in on the MSNBC news shows in the evening. Tonight I decided to watch the beginning of the Rachel Maddow Show. Her lead story was about torture, and how former VP Cheney defended it in keeping us safe for seven and a half years AFTER 9/11. She had some retired army guy as a guest helping her out against Cheney. Finally, the guy said, "Why does the media give him (Cheney ) so much airtime?' The Cheney segment on Maddow ended at 9:12 PM. How pathetic. Thanks Rachel for devoting ONE-FOURTH of your show to VP Cheney. Can't give him more airtime than that.

What credible source are you using for the "deaths of hundreds of thousands of people?"

Maybe he meant to say just thousands. or tens of thousands. but still over 4000 US military men died over in that sand for what? And twice that are back here with parts of legs and hands and arms and all manner of injury. Can you honestly tell me the juice was worth the squeeze?

You can say that about almost any war. Vietnam? Korea? For that matter the Civil War? Did over 600,000 American soldiers have to die to settle the issue of slavery? Was is all about slavery?

Well, I dont think the Civil War should or can be compared to Vietnam Korea or the 2nd Gulf War. I would say that the Civil War was not about slavery, but states rights. Anyway, Korea,Vietnam, and the 2nd Gulf War not one was worththe squeeze. These three wars have one thing in common, fabricated intell. intell gathered through the use of torture has been proven to be non-corraborated, and plain old Sh*tty. I mean when you think your gonna drown you will probably confess to anything or tell anyone what they want to hear. But what do I know?

Good points vman. The OPM and their toadies in the Democrat Congress never cease to amaze. They were on the Bush Bandwagon to topple Saddam.

I'll give a difference in Iraq. We toppled the gov't and gave the Iraq's a shot to have their own gov't. We left Korea divided with a bigger idiot than Pelosi in charge and 60+ years later we're still spending billlions of tax dollars defending the South Koreans. We left Vietnam with our tails tucked and Uncle Ho victorious. Guess its up to Barry to see that Iraq can stand on its own or not.

Crimson..the question remains did over 600,000 American soldiers and who knows how many civilians have to die for states rights or slavery?
