If P-O can scrap out a few runs against the stellar MU staff, then they could come out with the low scoring victory... MU will have trouble with Luke Curtis who will be by far the best pitcher they have seen all year. Richland and Central also looks like an interesting quarterfinal matchup and with Central smashing Somerset earlier in the year, I'll have to go with the MAC team in that one. Ill go with my final four being P-O vs Central and Bald Eagle Area vs Westmont.

A
(5) Ferndale at (1) Homer-Center
(3) Portage at (2) Bishop McCort
AA
(5) Central at (1) Mount Union
(6) Bald Eagle Area at (2) Westmont-Hilltop
AAA
(3) Bellefonte vs (1) Somerset
AAAA
(3) Hollidaysburg vs (1) Central Mountain

I hate picking all the higher seeds so I'm going with some upsets in AA. Even though Philipsburg got crushed by MU on Monday, I have a gut feeling that Central can pull that one out and upset the Trojans. The Dragons have put up 27 runs in their 2 playoff games and I think they can score enough against the MU pitching staff. As for scoring runs BEA has outscored their 2 opponents 28-0 in 2 games and seem to be rolling right now. Sorry Westmont but I think the Eagles will be too much and return to BCB to defend their title. Good luck to all teams and I look forward to some exciting baseball!

I respect u greatly lhacbigfan, having over 570 posts on this website.. but i ask u one question.. What do u have against Mount Union? You predicted upsets in both their games and both times you have been completely wrong (total opposite to be exact).... Once again i respect you greatly, but i believe you should do some scouting on the Trojans... That is if you can find any!

Made the trip to see Somerset and FH play in Somerset. In response to earlier comments about the results of this game......FH started what, 4 seniors? Paulson, Roberts, Sheets, Washko (dh)? The mistakes they made in this game, I agree, were arguably avoidable. Anyone play in the outfield at Somerset? Not an excuse, but it came down to the fielder getting his feet crossed up going sideways for the fly ball he misplayed for 3 runs. Then, the 3rd base ump awarded a runner on 3rd home because he said the Freshman 3rd baseman "obstructed" him. The throw from the outfield had gone to first base. The runner on 3rd had slowed rounding the bag, and had only gone maybe 6 feet before stopping. There is no possible way he was even thinking about going home, and the ump makes a delirious call like that. I also agree the bunt should have been called. It wasn't. It's not my team, it wasn't my call. Carpenter should have the most knowledge of his players' capabilities in any given situation, but hey, he is still human and everyone makes mistakes. I would not have had the #7 kid batting in the 2 hole either. Couldn't bat his weight. The DP's really did hurt, but this game -WAS- winnable. Somerset was not that good. All being said, FH had a stellar season, losing only 5? games, as opposed to last year's team with much better pitching, really underachieving. This should be a team to watch next year, without all the distractions from jugs guns, etc. putting undue pressure on a couple stressed-out kids. Think I'm kidding? Roberts ralphed his guts out in the dugout prior to the game. Swine flu? More like nerves to me.
