Did experience play a factor in extra innings? . All kidding aside, what Scott Burda has done while he has been Head Coach at NBC is unbelievable.

Re: NB vs. TM
If the 4-3 score in favor of NBC is true, that adds another jewel in the crown of Coach Burda and his remarkable run with the Black Panther baseball team.
According to Sneaker, three District V titles in a row and heading for a 4th straight is unbelievable at the class A level...lots of variation in kids when you have so few to pick from.
I would be interested to hear of Coach Burda's win/loss percentage while at the helm of the NBC baseball squad. I bet the only local coach with a better percentage in our friend Coach Imperoli down the road at Mount Union.
Who will be the scheduled starter for the final versus Fannett Metal?
Any also, what is the status of Bronson Bowser? I know he had some arm/shoulder problems in the fall, but has he been able to contribute/play at all? He is/was a kid loaded with ability, but not the desire perhaps to play at a high level. I am sure it was hard for him to follow his brother, Brandon, and his incredible work ethic and determination.
Thanks for the updates from the above thoughts.

Risbon will be pitching for NB on friday

Re: NB vs. TM
I too throw in a "WOW" to what Burda continues to do and give sincere congratulations...I also kid a former NB Coach (Bed Co. Hall of fame man) to the point that I said "Eddie who?" as I passed him by when exiting the Everett field...He knows I'm kidding!
If everything continues to go NB's way. look for Joe Risbon to get the nod Friday..He came in the eighth today to get the save..including 2 Ko's with the bases loaded..I think he threw to 4+/- batters..M. Snyder... 7 and 1/3 innings for the win...was able to strand tons of TM runners along the way, several bases loaded jams. If Joe doesn't go...Freshmen L. Fluke and J. Stern...maybe soph A. Corle or a sleeper waiting in the wings to be a hero.
Bowser, a very talented multi-sport athlete, unable to go at all this spring, will rehab and hopefully play somewhere, it will be tough..I think rehab is at least 8 months to a year...also work ethic was great when healthy and would have been tough to keep off the bases had he been able to go. just like his previous three years when getting D V gold.

I also want to congratulate the Titans and Coach Reed(s)..one heck of a year... only 2 SHL losses in a league where teams have that one guy who can rise up and get you at any time...

Re: NB vs. TM
Sneaks, was NBC the #1 seed any of the first three times they won the D5 title under Coach Burda? Hopefully, they'll add another one against Fannett Metal.
Re: NB vs. TM
Want to start out the morning and say nothing is in the bag obviously for either team...What a tournament again with #'s 1,2,3 & 4 all gone...Someone will be a Champion ...both #1 starters gone...anybody's game.
I'm not sure about NB's #1 seeds..definitely not last year..can't remember '06, '07..

First congrats to Coach Burda and the Panthers. They just find ways to win. Obviously it was an exciting game. Does anyone have any details or give a small recap of the game please. Also congrats to tussey on an outstanding season. Who will NB be playing?

N.B. will be playing Fannett Metal in the D5 championship game. I have not heard a location or time for this game yet. Rumors are flying about a night game at McConnellsburg, but who knows.
As far as Bronson Bowser, this really bothered me:
I am very excited for the Panthers to go after their 4th district title in a row. I know it has been a tough season for many, but i am looking forward to a good game wherever it may be played.

I understand the word "perhaps" is supposed to justify this opinion, but in my opinion Bronson has a ton work ethic and when I was around him he always worked to get better not only at practice, but he was up at the field or going to clinics when the Panthers did not have practice during the season. He got a raw deal with his shoulder, but you have to remember he had major surgery to repair it. I have heard that he is doing well in his rehab and is dedicated to attempting to play at the next level. I understand that this is a place to give your own opinions, and i am just giving my 2 cents.life hunts wrote:I know he had some arm/shoulder problems in the fall, but has he been able to contribute/play at all?
