Hope your fishing goes or went well. Now if you were a rich man you could...
Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus of Montana plans to take a break from the grind of crafting a health care overhaul to serve as a Democratic rainmaker with a few of his friends along the Madison, Gallatin and Yellowstone rivers in the Treasure State this weekend.
Lobbyists and political supporters will get their chance to cast fishing lines and drive golf balls with the Senate's top tax writer at his Fly-Fishing & Golfing in Big Sky event. The cost is $2,500 per person, $5,000 for a political action committee. And for the same price, more fun lies ahead at Camp Baucus, the summer camp he holds for friends and their families in his home state between July 31 and Aug. 2.
Advocates of public financing of elections -- such as Craig Holman, a lobbyist for Public Citizen -- say lucrative parties like the Baucus events give special interests undue influence over legislation.
"It's unseemly to be doing this just before the markup," said Holman, referring to pending committee action on Baucus' draft health care bill. "This kind of schmoozing of lawmakers clearly buys influence. This kind of event clearly shows why we need public financing."

Cute billboard. My wife has relatives in Maryland last name Godlove. The man, Ed, owned a liquor store. The sign out front said, you guessed it, "GODLOVE'S LIQUOR". True story.

great post above sarge. jesus did turn water into wine for his first miracle.
vman, I dont know how your fishing trip but my crew is down at OBX this week and we went off shore out of hatteras village and had an awesome day fishing. Landed about 30 fish and kept 15 dolphin, 5 amber jacks, 5 black fins, and a spanish mackeral. My brother hooked a sailfish but the SOB tail walked about 10 feet and spit the hook as he was waving goodbye to us with his tail. Caught some real nice gaffer dolphin and some bigger ones got away (I know the big ones always get away!) Great day of fishing (223lbs of filet/tuna steaks). Not landing the billfish and the water being very sloppy were the only downers on the best day of gulfstream fishing we ever had. I'll try to post a pick later today.

Sounded awesome there Lefty......and you can't beat those tuna steaks grilled outside.....get grill hot as possible & just a few minutes a side
nothing better.
I'm landlocked until late July when crew will be @ southern tip of NC...I enjoy just wading & fishin in the surf (esp. early eve)there....anyone familiar w/ Picolla lures from St Micheal's? Work well on salt water fish also.

Why?
Re: OPM- Obama Propaganda Media 2009-2012
vman - I used some Picolla lures a few years ago in Erie for Steelhead. They worked well.vman wrote:Sounded awesome there Lefty......and you can't beat those tuna steaks grilled outside.....get grill hot as possible & just a few minutes a sidenothing better.
