u are right u cant teach size and he was bigger that everybody else

he lifts during the offseason to get bigger and stronger
every player has the chance to do the same

Z.Rugg is very versitile
he played defense at MLB in a 5-3 and switch to noseguard in a 6-2
on offense he only played right tackle but why move him
he knocked down an opponent every set of downs

SAY ALL U WANT ABOUT HIM
NEXT YEAR MY MONEY IS ON HIM

This is for all the haters out there... The Ruggs are the best lineman in the area... They are going to be the best set of lineman Bishop McCort High School will ever have.. chris shumaker if you see this print it out and show me.

My top 5 overall for the year:

1.) Josh Seidel- This kid has his whole line, minus the center, back and what a line it is Rugg, Bambino, Belskey, Bako, also he can catch, and with Lowry gone he'll have a monster offensive season. Not to mention what he'll do on defense.

2.) Zak Newton- He'll touch the ball every play, most of it at RB but also at QB on occasion, so he'll easily eclipse 2,000 yards probably will end up around 2,500-2,600 all purpose yards.

3.) Dane Domonkos- Another kid who will do it all, he'll kick, when McCort throws he'll be the one getting the majority of the recptions, he'll return punts and kicks, and he'll play in the secondary. Should be a huge senior year from Domonkos.

4.) Gino Ramires- Pure talent, the best QB in this area easily, he can make all the throws, hes atheletic and can scramble and get away from defensive pressure, something he'll probably see alot of this year as Richland always has line issues. The only question is with the loss of Ripple and Adams, can the likes of Montag and Silvia step up at WR?

5.) Shane Rugg- Well what can you say? Hes the best lineman, offensive or defensive, in the area, he'll more then likely go D-1, and this kid can be unstoppable. Much of the time on offense he obilterates people and is unblockable on defense. When he plays up to his ability he is a total stud.

In my opinion Glessner (FH) is far and away the best quarterback in the Laurel Highlands. Ramires might put up huge numbers in an offense designed to do that, but Glessner wins games and has the best arm out of any quarterback since Defrances left.

This has been beat around before, while Glessner may have the best potential of anyone in the area he must show he can lead the team in the battles of the upper tier teams!

I think both these QB's are great, both have shown they can step up in the big game.

Two huge differences come to play however. First, Glessner did not have to carry the load last year, that was left up to Mr. Mehall. Ramires threw almost 200 more passes than Glessner last season! This year he (Glessner) will have to carry the team, so in a sense, I agree Caddy man. Second, FH actually plays defense (#1 in LHAC in points allowed, 104 less than Richland).

Personally, I feel that a team has to have a running game at any level of football. The high octane offense are great, burns out light bulbs in the scoreboard, and puts fans in the seats, but it is tough to consistently win games. Richland should have more of a running game with a pounder in Rizzo (6'0"/220 last year), a flashy guy in John George (5'7"/145) may "carry" this team into the, dare I say, second round of the playoffs.

No disrespect to the Laural Highlands but im pretty sure Lucas Runk ran all over every Laural Highlands team he played last year, Penn Cambria, Forest Hills, and Central Cambria.

I'm pretty sure we were talking about just the LHAC because thats most of what we see and care about. If you want to include the MAC or even WPIAL, but my guest. Runk is a darn good ball player too.
