I don't know how much more simply the staff can say this without sending out an email detailing it. Penn State's recruiting efforts so far for 2010 have been awesome. They have about 18-19 schollies available, and it seriously looks like they will have 14-15 4-star kids in this class, by Rivals standards. I don't understand how the kids buried on the depth chart do not realize how closely they are being watched, especially after all the problems they have had with discipline. The staff has made it VERY clear that they are trying their hardest to pursue ALL angles to free up more scholarships for this class. So, that being said, James McDonald is the biggest idiot on 2 feet, and so is DT Abe Koroma.

Both of those knuckleheads are in serious trouble AGAIN and are both probably gone. For the life of me, I just don't get it. You KNOW the staff wants more scholarships, you are an upperclassmen who is already being overlooked for FRESHMEN, and you have a free ride to one of the best colleges in the country, and you still screw it up.

In other news, 2-star DT Brandon Ware looks great (by reports) and put up 225 25 times last week. Congrats to Rivals for overlooking yet another quality PA kid.

Seldom used 5th year senior MacDonald has to leave the team for drinking. Navarro Bowman gets to stay for smoking marijuana and parole violation. In fact, Bowman gets NO punishment at all. What gives here?

It gets back to that "good faith" thing. MacDonald was given a scholarship for football. Took a redshirt in hopes that he would "blossom" on the football field some day. Went to practice all the time and did everything asked of him on the field. So why shouldn't he have kept his scholarship for a fifth year? Are you saying that if he wouldn't have got in trouble they should have dropped him anyway because he rode the pine for 4 years? So only the good players should keep the scholarships they were promised.
