EA, if DuBois leaves for D10 AAAA and with Hollidaysburg leaving for the WPIAL, do you think the MAC would bring them in?

Hey BigIke, The ICC also has teams from different Districts. NBC, TM, Everett are in District V and the rest of the teams are in District VI. (MU, CK, B-A, WB, Wmsburg, JV, Glendale,). I might be missing some schools, but you get my point. Leagues are formed not by the districts but geography. However, the districts stop at teh county lines, but the leagues do not.

Hard to say, With no single A teams in the league now, and several AAA and a AAAA school in, there would be some resistance. Plus you'd be looking at several 1&1/2 hr bus rides , Tyrone and Central would be about the closest games.Zeitgeist wrote:EA, if DuBois leaves for D10 AAAA and with Hollidaysburg leaving for the WPIAL, do you think the MAC would bring them in?

Good catch Crimson Crazy, I was posting before thinking, although that is not that uncommonCrimson09Crazy wrote:unless they changed it from last season....D5 plays the wpial in the first round so they are still in the west.
The reason why it happens is because theyre are way more smaller schools in western PA then Eastern PA so D6 goes and plays in the East the same thing happens in AAAA District 3 plays out of the West.

Now, actual "School Districts" which have students in more than one County muddy the water.philip's dad wrote:Hey BigIke, The ICC also has teams from different Districts. Such as Tussey Mountain, who have students from both Huntingdon and Bedford counties who attend classes.PA_Wizard wrote:Now, actual "School Districts" which have students in more than one County muddy the water.philip's dad wrote:Hey BigIke, The ICC also has teams from different Districts. Not just those two teams but several more want out of D6. CK, Somerset, and Lewistown come to mind.Zeitgeist wrote:Maybe I'm wrong, but didn't Ferndale and Portage at one time petition to join D5? I tried looking it up in old newspaper articles and in the archives on here but couldn't find anything.

Thanks Guys, Great Info! I did not realize this happens more often than not in other districts...I am more familiar with d-7 and how big it is with its many school districts within relative close proximity...The only cases I can think of from D-7 with like size schools/populations and Geographically closer in ways with a different PIAA district is Apollo Ridge (Bordered by Blairsville & Homer Center) and mainly in Indiana county would fit nicely in the Heritage and Maybe Geibal Catholic in Connellsville would fit in D-5, most of the teams they play now are about the same distance away as a rockwood or Berlin...But of course there is no way the WPIAL would let a team that does not play a D-7 take a D-7 playoff slot.
