Pitt adds a QB.
Anthony Gonzalez out of Bethlehem Liberty has commited to Pitt over offers from the likes PSU,FSU, Missouri and WVU among others. He was virtually unknown going into his junior season then led his team to the AAAA State Championship over Bethel Park. He amassed over 1000 yards in both passing and rushing and garnered the State player of the year award. Hes off to not so hot of a start this year as Liberty has opened up 0-2 and he is having some knee problems. Hopefully he'll recover nicely and come in and compete next year.

I called it!!!!!
Months ago, I said that Gonzalez will end up at Pitt bc Pitt is the ONLY school that will let him play QB at the D-1 level. Every other school recruited him as a Safety, and every recruiting analyst seconded the football programs evaluations that Gonzalez has no future as a QB in college. Once again, Dave Wannstedt tells a recruit what he wants to hear in an effort to get him at Pitt.
On another note, in last year's recruiting class, Penn State lost a pretty nice recruiting war with VTech over Athlete Antone Exum. He wanted to be a QB and Beamer told him over and over that he'd be a QB at Tech. Well, I found out from a guy who covers Tech on Rivals that Exum went DIRECTLY to Safety and has never taken one snap as a QB.
And the big recruiting wheel in the sky keeps on turning.

I think the kid can play QB just because Rivals and Scout say things doesn't mean they are right.

He very well may end up being he greatest QB of all time. But rivals and scout only reiterated what the colleges have said: Gonzalez is a Safety.
