Central Football
Re: Central Football
SRU, where were you last year when Central beat three straight LHAC teams on their way to the district championship? I don't know which league is better but I know for sure that it's not a big of a difference as you think. I would take Central over any one of those teams you mentioned except for maybe Bishop McCort.SRU45 wrote:9/04/09 @ Penns Valley Area 31-9 (W)

So far no big accomplishments. Huntingdon has a lttle to offer at the table not untill their last two games of the season will they have the best competion they will get. Do i think Central will beat Tyrone? No. St. Marys? No. But i do think that if Central were to be in the LHAC they would have 1. a different record and 2. they would not be "13" in the state (according to max preps). Give them a schugle that consists of Forst Hills,Penn Cambria, Richland, Bishop MCcort, and the envious Devils. But they left that schugle a few years back so unfortuantly we have to wait untill play offs. I guess we will all be able see come crunch time :!:

Re: Central Football
Really you would only take McCort out of that group.... Not Forest Hills who has dominated your school with the exception of last year. Is this kid serious. Now I know your all high and mighty now because Central has FINALLY accomplished something with their football team but common you guys were compared with Cambria Heights year in and out when you were in the LHAC.
Get real

I am serious. I'm talking THIS year. It doesn't matter what teams were like in the past that doesn't affect this year's team. Does it ever dawn on you that maybe Central is a lot better now than they were back then? Just because they couldn't compete in the LHAC five years ago doesn't mean they couldn't now.

Re: Central Football
I will forever consider Central as a wimp school for running away from competition. I can see that their athletic heads cant stand to lose and push through tough times.
You are right they could very well compete in the LHAC this year. But guess what, we will never know because they ran away.

Re: Central Football
Can you really blame them, Centrals last year in the LH went 1-9 with only win against CH,in the process losing to Richland 49-18 before the Rams were good, FH 21-55, and PC 50-0, ouchhh. The question I ask is, is the overall program better, or is it the case of a short cycle of talent?
Re: Central Football
Believe it or not, Central has a very good history in football. It just so happened that the years they were in the LHAC were years where the well ran dry on talent. Put Central in the LHAC mid 1990's and before and they would have been very competitive. Put them in there now and they would be very competitive. Everyone from the LHAC bad mouths Central as ALWAYS being a joke in football until last year, which is not true by any means. They just happened to be in that conference when the program was at rock bottom.
Man, ya'll Laurel Highlanders are haters...always hatin on westpac, always hatin on central, always hatin on small schools...give it a rest and show some support for other LOCAL programs!
