Are you done taking shots at joe c. yet? I know you are upset that he has won 85 straight versus your coveted Panthers. J-Carp was winning titles when carmen felus was a fetus. Jealousy forever!!!

Carmen Felus = unibrow

Let's talk about this a little more seriously for s**** and giggles. Joe Carpenter, THE MUCH MALIGNED JOE CARPENTER ACCORDING TO SHALER'S INTERNET EXPERTS, is a "junior high coach forever". Let's take a look at that from a few angles.

1. So what? What's wrong with being a junior high coach, especially when he has done so well?

2. As I am sure we will both agree, junior high football is about getting kids experience w/ team sports and getting them prepared for high school. That being said though... Look at Joe's body of work. They are still competing, Titan, whether or not its "prepatory football" or not. They still compete against kids the same age.

I personally feel that Joe is a very good football coach, and I remember a lot of times on the sidelines of both JH and HS games where Joe knew exactly what play was about to be called by the opposing team. I really think Joe gets a bad rap at FH, and should be seriously considered for a head coaching opportunity in the area. I think he would do well. I have always found Carpenter to be a smart guy with good football sense, and also a guy who is overlooked, even though he should be given way more credit than he is, for making those kids good before they go to HS. Before the 7th grade program was instituted, there really were not all that many kids playing pee-wee football in Richland from FH. So in that sense, Joe was the first coach to teach them football once they hit 8th grade. Consider that fact and then consider FH's varsity success over the past 15 years or however long Joe's been there. Joe Carpenter is one who, in that sense, not only taught those kids the initial fundamentals, but also taught them "winning football" and instilled a winning mentality. He deserves a lot more credit than what he gets.

Leave it to a WPIAL/Pitt fan to not recognize a good thing when he see's it.

FH's varsity program wouldn't be what it is today if it wasn't for the guys they have working with the JH kids. It's a trickle down process. If the coaches suck in 7th grade, the JH coaches have to spend more time fixing things that should have been addressed in 7th grade and don't have the opportunity to spend more time doing the more advanced things. Same thing goes if the JH coaches suck. Then the varsity program has to spend more time fixing things that should have been addressed. To ignore that would be idiotic. Consider the source.
