Shockey,

How about you compare Pitt with USC and Florida? What's your point? Those are the best programs in the nation and Penn State isn't far off. Wanna talk about far off, let's talk Pitt.

Stocky47 - Why do you nit wits need to compare yourselves to such an inferior team like Pitt?
My point is, the nitters are way behind ALOT of NCAA football programs. You say how much better your program is than Pitt's. There record is the same this year. Pitt beat psu the last time they played. I asked your counterpart to compare the nit wits to Florida and USC. Dont change the subject. I am smart enough to realize Pitt isnt in the category of those two (Florida and USC) but also know enough to say that psu isnt that much better than Pitt. Just because you pack 100 thou in the stadium doesnt make you a better program. They don't play head to head so no one can say who is better. The closest thing you got is Iowa and Oregon St. So go figure.

shocker,

No surprise you weren't following along. I was responding to Titans statement that Pitt and PSU have "been pretty close to the same" since 2000. I was not saying Penn State was on the same level as USC or Florida. Try to keep up next time. But since you've said this gem,

how about this little bit of research? Way behind alot of programs? These numbers don't say that.

But since you've asked, I figured I'd fancy you here for a little so we can compare the numbers.

Florida, since 2005 has 44 wins. 49 if you count this year also.

USC, since 2005 has 46 wins. 50 if you count this year also.

PSU, since 2005 has 40 wins. 45 if you count this year also.

Pitt, since 2005 has 24 wins. 29 if you count this year also.

I was hoping you were to compare conference records and titles like you did in the previous post. But the yearly win totals were nice. I guess you are the kinda guy who lives by the "close enough" and "almost" motto. Psu is close and they almost have as many wins, so that must be a big victory for the nitters. Maybe include national titles during those same years while you are at it.

Just for some more teams that are considered elite.

Alabama has 35 wins since 2005. 41 if you count this years totals.

Texas has 45 wins since 2005. 50 if you count this years totals.

Oklahoma has 42 wins since 2005. 45 if you count this years totals.

That looks like only 5 teams have won more games than PSU over the past 5 season. WIth the largest margin being +5 for Texas and USC. That's 1 game a year better than what PSU has been doing. That's also quite the difference between what Pitt has been doing the past 5 years with 29 wins(pathetic).

I like how you pick the last five years and dont seem to bother to go to the dark times of psu football of the early years of 2000 to compare records. You threw out some dates like 1993 and some others so I am surprised you wouldnt include 2000-2004.
That's ok ham because we all know more than 5 years is way to long ago. So I applaud you for your research on the subject. And your nitters showed the nation last year just how close they were to USC.

Ok. National Titles since 2005.

USC=0

Florida=2

Oklahoma=0

Texas=1

LSU=1

Pitt=0 (last 10 win season was 1981)

Why would I look up conference records with those teams? They've been playing in their respective conferences for much longer than PSU and Pitt have been playing in their respective conferences.

Admit you were wrong with you statement of "My point is, the nitters are way behind ALOT of NCAA football programs." The numbers I've showed you clearly debunks that asinine statement you've made. Keep being content with 29 wins in 4+ years.

so if you were responding to titans statement about Pitt being close since 2000, then why did you leave out 2000-2004? :shock:

So 2005 is too long ago, yet you want me to include the 2000-2004 seasons? Try to make some sense here. You stated that PSU was "way behind" all these elite programs. I've shown you they're not far behind at all! 1 game per year!

29 wins vs 45 wins. I'll take the 45 wins every time. No matter what any yahoo's such as yourself say. Continue to support a mediocre, at best, team.
