BEDFORD WRESTLING

Post by noname »

Bedford wrestling looks like to be on a litle bit of a slide. I remember when they dominated alot of teams for many many years. Ridge and NBC beating them last year and maybe Ridge beating them again this year and maybe NBC being pretty close again. IS bedford going through a cycle here or will things get back normal next year as in getting back to dominating in wrestling. What does the BEdofrd faithful have to say?? OR think??

As one of the faithful, we are down. The 90's were dominant years for Bedford, mauling all comers on a regular basis. But we have been humbled, most recently by NS. It was 2 years ago that we beat them by a similar score to last night, not 60, but 50. I hope they will be back.

What is the problem with Bedford? is it the number of kids out or is it the dedication of the kids? or could it be level of competition they wrestle now? i remember years ago they wrestled clearfield, lock haven , what happened to those powerhouses being on the schedule?

But how do you fix that problem? It is pride and hard work, not a fun time. May be the most demanding sport over all.

i think alot of it has to do with the one - on - one aspect today vs. the team aspect. you know what i mean, with the team , you can put the blame on somebody else.

It takes a lot to be a coach nowadays and my hat is off to anyone who gives of their time to coach. It is a demanding position to be in with today's society, but what I think Bedford wrestling is missing is Coach Ed Clark's discipline and intensity as well as Coach Bill Crep's attention to detail.

What Bedford needs is a coach like Jan Clark. I know his team isnt doing that well this year but he has some good wrestlers that love Jan as a coach. I am not making fun of Bedfords coach I am just putting my opinion out there.
