if we went back to the combo 5/6 playoffs, windber would not make it out of the second round. FACT

and d5 would still be listing people as district champs on their website even though the playoffs were combined. one team, myersdale in 1996 lost in the 1st round of the combined playoffs and is still listed as the d5 champ.

I guess portage and CT did, and if you make it past berlin, CT will take it to you next round.

I enjoy seeing all the players on Windber's bench who never see playing time get on here and talk up their big, bad teamates. I guess I can't tell you to let your pads do the talking saturday because you won't be playing! :oops:

Personally: I would let any team beat my team (every year) in regular season games.. But when the playoffs come around... I'll take that win ANYTIME over that same opponent...

The playoffs are what you strive for making...

& (IF) your lucky enough to make it into the Interdistricts, You've got icing on your season's cake

For instances: Windber Area -Vs- Conemaugh Twp. last year Twp takes the 14-0 win in regular season. Then Windber meets up with them again & beats them not only for the District # 5 Crown , but they also get to move on & play the eventual runner up in the STATE..

Not too shabby of a way to wrap up your season...

how do you win the regular season when there is both the west pac and inter-county conferences in d5 that don't? d5 is pathetic to list a champion based on a regular season. you don't see d6 listing a seperate champ for the years windber won. they don't play each other and didn't play a playoff combining the leagues for the d5 championship.

why don't they list a d5 champ for AA in 07-08 or 06-07 or 05-06 or 04-05?

they also list windber as the district 5-6 region champ in A in 00-01 why not just list them as the champ like all the other years.

hornet69 in 96 meyersdale went undefeated it was butch stahl last season and then he retired d5 awarded meyersdale a trophy for being d5 champs before we played purchase line in aplayoff game.i dont know why that is maybe because they were the only team from d5 to make playoffs and as you stated we did lose to them we got our butts kicked that nite iknow because i was there that nite

just seems like a backwards way of doing something. giving a trophy out before the playoffs. it seems like there is no consistency on the way they list things on their website. just like why call winder the d5 champs when they lost to bishop carrol, but call them the regional champs when they beat bishop carrol.
