Re: McCort vs Bellwood
I know some teams in the WPIAL that have more size, more speed, and waaayy more athleticism than McCort.. If you guys win against bellwood.. you'll find out..
But thats neither here nor there... this is the most i've seen people going with McCort losing in awhile.. kinda cool haha

Re: McCort vs Bellwood
Those who knew better knew all along that this was the matchup that was going to happen. For those who don't know better let me clue you into a few facts of life:
1) (For all those who thought McCort would be playing Portage) a team doesn't beat TYRONE at TYRONE, and then lose to Portage in the playoffs.
2) (For all those who thought McCort would "blow" through the D6A playoffs) Bellwood is heads and shoulders better than any team who you have faced this year. You are not going to blow out Bellwood.
Going into this game a few things have to have Crusher fans worried. Number one, Bellwood just shut down Portage's "Unstoppable" Portage offense. What did Bellwood do to Sinosky? Make him a nonfactor. Will McCort's other players be able to step up when Seidel is taken away?
Bellwood is the most balanced team that the Crushers have faced all year. We saw what the only DECENT offense (Richland) did to McCort's defense this year. They can be scored upon. Bellwood can throw the ball, as well as run the ball, and they have multiple players that can get it done.
Here are some things that play into McCort's favor. Although they've never really been tested, they've played much better teams than Portage did this year.
Also, McCort absolutely has a better line that will match up with Bellwood better than the Stangs could. McCort also has a better supporting cast. If McCort is going to win this game...Merriman and Domonkos are going to have to make some big plays.
IMO…Seidel is still going to get loose a few times. The OG also thinks Domonkos is a big time player and will come up big in some form, whether it be from the wildcat or catching and breaking a big pass play.
Bellwood 09>Bellwood 08

The OG is pulling for McCort and hoping for a 3way LHAC sweep in the District titles. What a great weekend of football this is going to be!

And the last thing I must tell you...NEVER QUIT!
Re: McCort vs Bellwood
First off McCort09 > McCort 08, and I think anyone who has watched this team when their at full strength such as this past weekend will tell you that. Remember it was 45-7 in the third when Salem called off the dogs albeit it was Penns Manor, and taking nothing at all way from them because they had a phenominal season but their no Bellwood. Also I don't think Bellwood will stop Seidel, and even if they do McCort still has Merriman, Domonkos, and James. Plus stopping Sinosky has been done before McCort last year. And as for Richland scoring on McCort's D that had alot to do with the fact that was McCort's first game without Pinkerton in the secondary because of him getting injuried in the 2nd quarter, and the secondary of Seidel, Domonkos, Leech has greatly improved each week. Another thing you got to take into consideration with the Bellwood win over Tyrone, don't get me wrong I'm taking nothing away from them because beating Tyrone period is a helluva accomplishment for any team especially in Tyrone, but it was the first game of the year and thats the best time for upsets early and Tyrone had some injury issues in that game and alot of young guys that have learned as the season has gone on. And I can assure you Crusher fans are not expecting a blowout this Saturday, I know I'm not neither is anyone else I've talked to thus far. It'll be a close hard fought game that comes down to the wire but in the end I think McCort has just too much for Bellwood to handle.Opinionguy wrote:Those who knew better knew all along that this was the matchup that was going to happen. Save us all the aggravation. Just deliver the championship trophy to Osborne St. tomorrow.
It ain't over until it's over.

Manfred, now that takes the fun of the competition out of it.

Re: McCort vs Bellwood
Underdog, We all know those numbers are greatly inflated. Also, it's not always about being the same size as your opponent. It's more about how you carry (how it distributed) and use your size. McCort's O-Line is much quicker, stronger and athletic than Bellwood's O-Line. McCort has way too many weapons for Bellwood or anybody else around here to handle.
Re: McCort vs Bellwood
Told You So, I agree that those numbers are inflated a bit but I've seen them in person their big. But I do also agree with you McCort's line is much much quicker and much better at what they do.

Re: McCort vs Bellwood
Here are my thoughts but I was not at the game. I think Coach Hayes told his team that Sinosky will not beat us, period. They hold him to 33 yards and Burgan finishes with 137 but l think 82 was on one carry. Sinosky is the most dangerous runner on the Portage team, 4,000 plus career yards. I think that is what I would have done if I were Coach Hayes. The prior week they held Blacklick's Worthington to like 44 yards and Julock picked up 100 plus. Game plan is to stop the player who was most influential in getting the team to this point. I do not know if they can hold Seidel down like that.
