McCort vs Tri-Valley
Re: McCort vs Tri-Valley
it doesn't matter if the even beat Tri Valley. Once they met sir kevin weatherspoon of clairton its a wrap. Mccort wont be able to stop Clairton in any part of the game.

I was going to post a preview, but I don't know if that's necessary now. Good work Defense.
This was the only video I could find of Tri-Valley. The Straub kid looks like a speedster.

Re: McCort vs Tri-Valley
What did Pope Pius X do to get a school named after him?
Re: McCort vs Tri-Valley
And why is the school called Tri-Valley? Why didn't the call it Quartet Mountain? After all, to have 3 valleys, you gotta have 4 mountains, right?

By all means zeitgeist and crimson, love your previews!

Thanks Defense, and congrats Crushers! Keep rolling guys!
Bishop McCort (District 6 Champion, 13-0) vs Tri-Valley (District 11 Champion, 10-4)
After going 6-6 last season, Tri-Valley has made an impressive jump to the state semifinals. Former Mount Carmel Area head coach Mike Kogut has made quite an impact in only his second year. The Bulldogs come into this week flying high after beating state power Southern Columbia in the quarterfinal round. They racked up an impressive 450 yards of offense --of which 278 came in the second half-- against a Southern Columbia team that had been dominant since their 35-28 set back to AAA semifinalist Selinsgrove. Last week alone Southern Columbia throttled Northwest Area 60-7. Despite being down by three touchdowns at one point, Tri-Valley clawed its way back into the game thanks to big games from running back Wyatt Straub and quarterback Matt McGinley. Straub exploded for 169 yards on the ground against the Tigers, and 6'5” quarterback McGinely threw for 169 yards.
This will be the second team in a row that the Crushers face coming out of the Twin Valley Conference. Hailing from Hegins, PA the Bulldogs enter the game with a somewhat surprising 10-4 record. Their losses this year include; Schuylkill Haven (28-6), Williams Valley (34-6), Millersburg (9-7), and Upper Dauphin (28-22). Most notably, in the loss against Millersburg, Straub rushed for 152 yards and McGinely threw for 185. Upper Dauphin lost to Millersburg in the District 3 championship game two weeks ago. Make no mistake, however, this Tri-Valley team is not the same that lost to Millersburg. That game was played in a driving rainstorm which limited the Bulldogs significantly.
In the District 11 playoffs, Tri-Valley held all three teams they faced to 14 points or fewer. For the year, the they are averaging 25.8 points per game while only surrendering an average of 15.7. Despite being out early in the season with an injury, senior running back Wyatt Straub has put together a stellar season, rushing for 1,596 yards in only 11 games, with an average of 145.1 yards per game. Not to be outdone, senior quarterback McGinley has put up equally impressive passing numbers, throwing for 2,081 yards, averaging 148.6 yards per game. McGinley has a wide selections of targets to throw to, with three receivers surpassing 400 yards this season. Leading the explosive receiving corps is Matt Helper (48 rec, 651 yds) along with Tanner Troutman (31, 613), and Bryn Bowman (36, 508). On defense, Helper and Bowman lead the team in total tackles with 122 and 117.
Bishop McCort made the trip to Hershey and found themselves turning right back around with their second state playoff win in school history. McCort's first team defense imposed its will against Millersburg, not allowing a first down until late in the third quarter, and held the Indians to only 86 yards on the ground and a dismal 43 yards through the air. Despite only playing in the first quarter, Seidel finished with 64 yards to increase his total to 1,768 this year. Domonkos added 67 yards, along with a 66 yard punt return. Maybe the most surprising statistic on the day were the 3 interceptions by the Crushers. Millersburg quarterbacks Roach and Wolfgang and combined 18 pass attempts, with all three interceptions coming from Roach.
I haven't picked against the Crushers all year, and I'm certainly not going to start now. Last week I said that the Twin Valley Conference was the “red-headed stepchild” of District 3. In District 11, maybe not so much. For the fans who wished that McCort had played Forest Hills, I think this is about as close as you're going to get. The Bulldog's diverse offense is a major red flag, because it would seem that they can beat you on the ground or through the air. Tri-Valley played with a chip on their collective shoulders against Southern Columbia because it seemed, to them at least, nobody expected them to win. Also, despite the line platooning of the Tigers, the Tri-Valley linemen were able to wear them down enough for the win. Injuries to Seidel and Domonkos are big causes for concern, but I doubt that either will miss any part of this game. It won't be an easy game, that's for sure. The line will again, as it has been for some many games, be the determining factor in this game. Crushers move onto Hershey for the state championship, but not without some adversity.

Re: McCort vs Tri-Valley
In the video I posted earlier, these were most of the offensive players that I saw. Couldn't tell who the LG or LT were though. Straub is definitely a running threat. On film he looks to be faster than the likes of McCaulley or some of the other backs in the LHAC, so the D will have to come out ready.
75 Miller (5'9”, 250) RG
63 Willard (6'0”, 285) RT
52 Henniger (6'1”, 220) C
?? ?? LG
?? ?? LT
83 Bowman (6'1”, 185) TE
5 Troutman (5'11”, 160) WR
44 Helper (6'2”, 190) WR
2 Straub (5'9”, 170) RB
9 Auman (5'11”, 185) HB
13 McGinley (6'5”, 190) QB
